Can i find a 348 in Greece ?

Hello my name is Nick and i stay in Greece so i'm a big fan of 348 for years now,so i search for it to buy one but here in Greece the situation now was very difficult so i can't found something here but only 355,450 and other but i prefer the 348 except the low c.c the is under 3.000 i like his newer style that it has in addition with the older 80s models like 308,328 and others. So can i find something good in the 28.000-to 32.000 euro maximum? Also i want the tb version and not the ts or spyder. Can i bring the car from the neighbor Italy or this is cost me the earth?

Thanks you so much for your time,
Nick

P.S if you want to tell me also the problems that this car maybe have or something that i have to notice before i bought it..

Nick- Welcome to Ferrari Life. The 348 actually has 3405 ccs. The name 348 means 3.4 liter 8 cylinder.

Cannot help you on taxes between EU nations, but I thought it was much easier to mover cars border to border now. Make sure you can afford the maintenance on a 348 or F355 before buying one. Although generally reliable, the 348 requires an engine out belt change every 3-5 years, which tends to be kind of expensive. Annual maintenance on one probably runs about 900 euros per year.

If you go to ferraridatabase.com, you can download 348 owners manuals and workshop manuals for free and learn more about the car.

There is a Ferrari dealer in Athens and one simple way to find a good 348 would be to have them pick one up for you. They would take care of all the import paperwork for you and you would start a good relationship with them. You might also contact Eddie's Ferrari shop in Cyprus and see if he knows about a good used 348 that is available. Would also solve all the import issues.

Sorry to say man but importing a car to Greece will cost you at least 50% of the invoice value on extra taxes. Recently they added 20% luxury tax also, which goverment said will withdraw. Also since its an old car probably euro3 emission, you will pay extra charges, according to EU. Finaly for a 30.000 euros car you might end up paying 60.000. Unless you are a foreigner where you can import a car with foreign plates and escape all the above mess.
The other option is to buy a decent low mileage 360 for 45-50.000 euros, like i did

As above; you won't get a car for that kind of figure with everything paid. Over in Cyprus the 348's average 50,000 Euros after the government have finished their thieving.

I know of one car (Yellow Spider) that's in your price bracket but it's a total heap; No servicing apart from oil changes for 10 years, three different shades of yellow, interior wrecked, etc etc....

Your budget would get you a decent 308, a very good gt4 or a rough 328, might be worth you looking for one of those ?

First of all thanks you all for your answers, now between 308 and 328 i prefer 308 because it was more ferrari in my opinion than 328,but if you take a look at the front bumper 328 was more beautiful, you know you are in dead end. After that i'm afraid that if the 348 that was a newer model than the 308 and 328 and wants for maintenance about 900 per year as tazandjan said the other two that was older may needs more. But you know i'm gonna pay taxes and insurance the maintenance was in schedule. Finally about 308 you can find some more than 348 that you can't find anything here is a Greek site that you can find second hand cars and i find 6 308.

Is there any other site that you can suggest me and find something?

Annual maintenance on most Ferraris is about the same, including the 308/328/348. The big difference is that the 308/328 does not need to have the engine removed for a cambelt change every 3-5 years, and the 348 does.

Incidentally, I think the 308 bumper/spoiler is much more attractive than the 328 bumper/spoiler, especially those with the optional deep spoiler.

So,after a lot of research yesterday and watching about a year now,i think that the two best ferrari's for me is the 308 and the 355.And i explain that i love the 308 for his classic design and sound, but i'm in love with 355 because is a car of my era and it's much better that anyone else the back lights the black grill on the back (at automatic versions) the sound,it has everything that i want from a car like this. And this is the reason that i want 348 because of his lower cc compare with the 355 and his also same look except from the front and back bumper and the interior. So i'm in dilemma if i take a 308 i'm sure that i love it,but the 355 is the something else but i'm afraid that i can't afford it in the Greece of crisis,so i have to think about it and make a decision.

Easy, get the 308, which you can afford, and save your money for an F355. That way you learn about and drive a Ferrari while saving for the next one. The 308 should not lose any value and may actually gain value if well maintained.
