Advice for purchasing a 612

I have narrowed my search down to a 612 - no longer thinking about QPs. Thanks for the earlier advice. I am primarily looking at '05 to '07 vintage cars. Looking for advice on what to consider/ how to go about this. Have never purchased a Ferrari or similar car before - largest purchase previously was a low mileage pre-owned 911 c4 convertible.

The criteria I have developed so far are:
1) Regular service history - insist on seeing service records.
2) Exterior and interior condition - car that looks well maintained
3) HGTC package
4) Preferred colors - metallic blue, Grigio Titanio Metallic - open to others if cannot find my first choices.
5) Prefer low mileage
6) Preferably owned/ driven in a warm climate - so has not faced harsh conditions, salt on roads etc.

My primary questions are:
1) Do my criteria make sense - any suggested changes?
2) Are there any material differences between 2005-2007, perhaps 2008 models?
3) Are there different varieties of handling package
4) Are there other options I should definitely be looking for?
5) How should I think about trading off mileage vs. age for the similar budget ranges? Is 30k miles for a 2007 better or worse than 10k for a 2005 if both well maintained? I will probably keep the car, but want to do the smart thing financially too.

Thanks so much in advance.

There were two handling packages for 05-early 08 standard 612s, HGTS, which does not include CCM brakes, and HGTC, which does. These include faster shifting TCU, stiffer suspension and ECU, and wheels with the packages. In 07 the Sessanta, and in 08 the OTO, were introduced with 599 gearbox case and dual plate clutch and an uprated Type F133H engines. There was an HGT2 handling package for the OTO, all of which came standard with CCM brakes. 612s did not follow the F430 and 599 with standard CCMs in September 2007, so you can find 08s that have steel brakes and are not OTOs.

In general, the OTO/Sessanta would be preferred, but cost more. The OTO has a glass roof.

All this has been discussed in detail in the past, so do a search. All the mileage vs age criteria are strictly opinion and you will have to make up your own mind which is more important to you. There is little difference between a car built in 2003 (yes, they were building early 612s in 2003) and 2007 except for some larger wheel choices on the later cars.

Buy this one

HGTS Nuvolari paint with matching Nuvolari special leather over cuio. 599 modulars and OTO screens. Custom stereo with built in laser full clear bra 14k and just replaced the rear leather shelf due to shrinkage. Tool kit silk covers for the car seats and steering wheel. 2nd owner originally out of BH where all the stereo work was done. Very late 06 build and should be an 07.

Here is a video taken from a car show - the colors are slightly off as the paint and interior are slightly darker.

Doug- There are not many out there nicer than yours and it sounds really good with the HGTC exhaust and valves open.

Doug - I am potentially interested in your car. Tried to send you a PM but not sure if it's going through.

Thanks Terry - you can take all the credit for the upgrades.

My neighbors think the 612 sounds better than the 16M

Got it and responded.

There is another super nice one at STL motors. I knew the prior owner it's very very high spec'd.
