599 Noise - hydraulic from oil cooler circuit
My 2008 599 suffers from a loud and unpleasant noise from the oil cooler circuit. Once the oil temperature reaches 85C the noise is present between 2000 and 3000 rpm. As this is for me a very common rev range, -corresponding for example to 120km/h on highways, it's really annoying.
The factory issued a modification which involved changing a fixing bolt to a rubber mounting, and changing the rubber on the oil pipe retaining straps, this for early cars. Mine already had it installed, but I renewed the 'kit' anyway which slightly diminished the volume without however eliminating it.
I wonder if my car suffers particularly, or if other 599 owners have the same issue? Any solutions in that case?
I've thought to apply Dynamat to the rigid oil cooler hoses, and experiment with the stiffness of the rubber mountings.
Nick, This is the first I have heard of this. My '08 is not doing it with 40K on the clock. I will ask around about this problem.
Thanks for taking an interest. Look forward to your further thoughts
