Ferrari 360 belt service

Hello
I have a 2000 Ferrari 360. The belts were replaced July of 2012. Only had 4000 miles on it since. How do I know if I need to replace it again. How often is it recommended. Each mechanic tells me a different story.

The factory recommends 3 year or 30K miles, whichever comes first....Not much ambiguity here.

The 3 year specification from Ferrari is rather controversial. Some think a failure was associated to the release of this bulitten, others feel it was released to increase service revenues.

Yes, these are screaming motors at just under 9k revs.

I've inquired with several dealers regarding this question and the answer has been very consistent that 4-5 years is the reasonable duration.

I've subscribed to 5 years myself.

I'm following the 4-5 year plan with our Spider.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

I had mine done when I bought the car as it was 3 years since they had been changed. The belt change was carried out at a Ferrari independent specialist at a cost of 400 + Vat. Personally I'd rather have them done ever 3 years than risk failure as the latter I'd have thought would cost rather more to repair.
