Immobiliser bypass

I have a Ferrari 456gt that got water damage to the immobiliser.
I live in Australia however my car is left hand drive. It was originally Japan delivered.
The car is not registerable in Australia until I get it running and do the right hand drive conversion. This causes real problems as I don't have any registration papers to give to Ferrari, so they won't sell me a replacement immobiliser. So my car has sat at my local dealership for twelve months!
Does anyone know how to disable the immobiliser or know of a bypass module that would work. Or any details on the immobiliser and pin configurations.
I really need some help as Ferrari won't even sell the parts to the Australian dealer with out rego papers! Crazy when they will vouch for me and have my car. Any help greatly appreciated

Adrian,
I did a little research on the single button immobilisers. If your immobiliser is a VIM172, it is basically the same unit as the various otherr Bosch single button systems used by Porsche, Ford and GM Europe. I found on a Ford site some instructions on bypassing the Ford VIM125/VIM179, which may work on the Ferrari immobiliser, but since I have not tried, I do not know for certain. I was keeping them in case I needed them some day; if you send me a PM with an e-mail I will send you the .doc files I have. They might help.

immobilizer

Hi Nigel,
I have a 360 here that has a dead alarm and therefore the car has been sitting at the dealer for over a month and my customer wants to drive his car. I would like to see if your information works on this car... Thanks

Scott

Hi Nigel

I am having a similar problem i bought a Ferrari 456 and all was driving well although it only came with one key which went in the wash earlier this year.
Sent to DK Eningeering and they advised to change the whole immobilizer unit costing £2000.

Is there a way to reprogram ecu to override Immobilizer. Thanks

Afi

Dino- Welcome to Ferrari Life. There is a typo in your email address. Should be comcast.net.

To revive an old thread, the immobilizer can be repaired or a new one programmed by these guys ( in Australia )

Mike- Welcome to Ferrari Life. If immofixer is talking about adding new fobs if you have your red fob, they do not know what they are talking about and should be approached with extreme caution.
