Sure will John.

I will be posting live videos and pics at my ferrari.videos page on instagram.

When I get back home I will write a piece for FL with some of the pics. It is too hard to post videos here as I find it an intolerably slow process to first upload to youtube. The last one I posted here took 8 hours. I wish we could also just upload video to FL as you can with the pics. Maybe the techs could look into it. If IG can do it so simply, surely it can be done here also.

Back to the trip....Can't wait. Normally I am oh hummm about holidays....But this one is kid in a lolly shop for me.

What a hoot! Cannot wait.
I had been 'hoping against hope' that Judith and I would be able to make this pilgrimage.Might even have been able to persuade her of the ineffable attractions of mud, beer & sausages, especially with the temptations of champagne and haute cuisine la semaine prochaine. Mais helas! cannot. Please be certain to enjoy double for those of us who will miss the encampment.

We are staying 30 mins away. Just checked in to our hotel. Now for the trial run to the track.

Drove on my first autobahn today. Fantastic. Drove 170 k's at speed and arrived fresh. In Australia it would have taken twice the time and arriving fatigued from the long slow drive. In Australia driving at 130 kph stresses you that you will lose your licence. Here 130 kph makes you feel like a grandma!

David.

Going to try to make it to the Nordschleife later this year so shoot me a PM when you get back. Have run on it once before but it has been a while. Have fun!

Yeah Pete, I was getting a little depressed. Couldn't find any reason to stay down there so isolated. Now I'm feeling perfectly satisfied, almost content. Only now have to time my holidays!

Just be careful David. The speed limit changes OFTEN! Only about 30% of all Autobahn stretches are unlimited, for the rest it is 130, 120 or 100. There are also sections that are unlimited only for certain hours of the day, and restricted at night.

They do NOT take kindly to speeding on restricted sections. Keep your eyes open, it is easy to miss a road sign.

Have fun in Germany, I wish I was attending the N24...

Thanks for the advice Onno. I hope it isn't too late. I have been keeping pace with the left hand lane traffic flow, pulling over for 180 kph plus drivers, my car has a heads up display of both my speed and legal limit. Sometimes I notice that the traffic flows at around 20kph faster than the speed limit. If Germany does the same as Australia, then we all will get fines in the mail and I will be in a spot of bother.

I know I have a red light infringement waiting for me that I have incurred here in Stuttgart.

Also my sat Nav drove me into a pedestrian section in Cologne and I was stuck in the middle of a zombie march. The policeman was very amused. In Australia a fine for sure.

In Australia many die from driver's fatigue. Boring drives where you zone out at 100 kph. A 300 k drive will take you three boring hous of day dreaming. Here in Germany the driving is engaging and in my opinion much better.

Oh, as for SCG, they finished 37th. I don't know what it means for them but I'm sure they would have preferred a podium position.

I'd say car that crossed the finish line after 24 hours is a majestic achievement, not to mention 35th place. Considering how many problems SCG had with alternator belt breakdown (3x it failed, lost 2 hours of racing).
And then, like in the movie, the whole team pushed the car to start up and go to track from the garage ten minutes before the end of the race. That moment will stay probably forever in my brain whenever I remember of Nurb 24h '15.

EDIT: Found press release for the race.
