Thanks DogZy,

I also found this http://www2.mech.kth.se/courses/5C12...raghi_2010.pdf

Quite a few articles regarding race car aerodynamics searchable on Google.

Just love this internet thing!

David.

The difficult thing is designing high downforce with low drag for high VMAX and fuel efficiency which really matters in endurance racing. So far we have higher VMAX with the same HP as P 4/5 C and P 4/5 C VMAX with 20 less HP. We also have a lot of tire width 12F 13R which gives us a high mechanical grip 3+G's. We'll have almost 3000 lbs of downforce.

Hoo, Jim, that is almost unimaginable! I'm guessing that 15-20 years ago downforce on that scale would have been thought to be literally impossible, physically unattainable on a race car of any kind.

I love the mechanical detail that is possible today. From scientifically squeezing out the last bit of aerodynamic advantage to machining lumps of metal into, well automotive works of art.

In today's climate where the most despicable acts imaginable now invade our attention its comforting to see the joy of human endeavour and the pursuit of excellence is still alive. Good on you mate and thanks for taking the time to post.

Looking forward to watching your show. Seems a bit hard to get down here live but I'm sure it will surface at a later time.

David.

Hi Jimmy,

I guess we are on similar if not the same timezone. One of the difficulties in being on the other side of the earth is that when someone says 10.45am tomorrow it's hard too work out when that is. I am shooting for 12.45 am Saturday 22nd (Australia EST) which is in about 4 hours time. I'll probably get it wrong, only to stay up to watch something totally different.

When I post this I will look at the time of my post, so I can finally determine which country/zone the time relates to. My guess is the USA not Europe.

To my surprise the time shown is mine plus 1hr. ?New Zealand. No way? Now I'm totally confused. Guess I'll just have to be patient and watch Jim's interview at a later date.

When I post it shows my posting time (now 9.20pm) plus 1 hour. After I look at the forum the time shows 3.20am, which all I can find is Anchorage!

Thanks for clearing that up mate!

Nothing like the source to clarify things.

BloombergTV has a night owl Aussie audience of at least 1 guaranteed now.

Well worth the late night. Great line about your wife not wanting to take your surname! Looking forward to seeing 003 fly at the N24 next year.
