Was a great morning. Bigger turn out than last year. Got the opportunity to go out in the 550 Barchetta - awesome car. Was my first experience in a 550.

Everything was going good until mid day when the track was closed for the day due to that unfortunate crash of the 458 Italia. At least the driver and passenger walked away without serious injury, but the same can't be said about the car.

I didn't see the crash, any pics? We were driving go kart with the guys from bmwfanatics.co.za and popped in to take a loot at all the f-cars...there weren't a lot of the older models such as the tr,355 and 348. When we left Zwartkops the 550 was behind us and then came past...I've got some pics on Exoticspotter.

Yeah there wasn't many older cars. I recall there only being 1 or 2 F355's and no 348's turned up. There was an appearance by a 308, 328 and Mondial for the older models.

On my way to Zwartkops in the morning I landed up driving behind the 550 Barchetta and a 458 Italia together.

Jesse do you have a flickr account? I didn't like exoticspotter any more. I got banned for speaking out, every new picture that's out, 12 year olds just flood the picture with spam and talk about something stupid and irrelevant to the picture.

Also maybe you could drive around Sandton sometime and snap plenty of 458's for us, you might see the F12 in the next 2 months or so around there.

Will, I see you mention Sandton, do you live in South Africa?

Unfortunately we won't officially see the F12 here until next year, unless someone purchases the car overseas and does a gray import.

Mike, I don't live in South Africa :*(, but I know the rich areas around Johannesburg, whilst I visited Cape Town to see my dad's friends they told me where you would most likely see the cars.

Sandton for Joburg
Camps Bay for Western Cape
Umhalanga Rocks for Durban ect.

That sucks you get the cars a little while after, I did see a 458 spider seen in Cape Town on exotic spotter. When did they go on sale?

To add to the Jo'burg areas for spots - Bedfordview, Bryanston, Fourways, Houghton, Sandhurst, Senderwood and Oaklands. Had a few spots in these areas over the years.

The official Ferrari Maserati agents for South Africa, Viglietti Motors, opened a branch this year down in Umhlanga. It's not as big as the Jo'burg or Cape Town branch though.

Yeah we get the cars a couple of months later compared to Europe. The first 458 Spider arrived here in May this year. By the end of this year alone there will be over 40 458 Spiders in S.A. Seen a handful already in Jo'burg.
