Hi Jeff,
I am looking forward to this event next year. I plan to drive over from Detroit with my 360. Due to the length of the drive I am wondering if you know of any Ferrari Challenge teams with a 360, 430 or 458 they would be willing to rent for the track day.
Thanks,
Jeff

Interesting question. That is likely best asked of the individual teams. In this regard I a m not aware of who is likely to show up. I am aware of efforts to get some ALMS/Grand Am teams to attend.

There will be 3 days for track time with various classes for cars and driver skills. You may want to check in with Dan Harrison of the Central States Region for what he is specifically arranging. Mike Epifonio is the event co-chair, also Central States Region. Both have contact info by way of the Central States website.

Look forward to having you join us.

Dear Jeff,

Road America right after the rain at turn 12. FCA National 2009. Fun day - skinny tires, petrified 54 year old brake linings, wet slippery track...

Best regards,

Best regards,
Ed Niles said of a 166 he was driving that the brakes were so bad that we would be better off opeing the doors and using them as speed brakes.

Looking for ideas and people that would participate for seminars and discussions during the course of the 6 days. Thinking we would do an assortment of different session with a range of topics that will interest the vintage and the new stuff crowds. Somewhere in all this we also need to tie in that this is the 50th anniversary of the FCA and North America's contribution to the history of Ferrari.

Here are some ideas:

Challenges and war stories of restorations - Wayne Obry may be willing to participate

Aesthetic design of Ferrari analysis, what has made them special - have a GM designer and F-car owner willing to be part of this

Classiche, what it is and isn't - likely one of the Chicago dealers could do this

Grand Am/ALMS campaigning - both series will be at Elkhart the following weekend so maybe we could get someone early

Lampredi motors - thinking we have a father and son tema here on F-Life that could certainly do the in-line moter portion of this

"Characters" of north american Ferrari history

Getting a Tech Session for the 360 and up cars came up as something to try arranging came up today in a phone call. The idea is to see if the Tech manager from FNA along with the Chicago dealers would all be willing to participate. The dealers are easy, both will be at Elkhart it is the FNA side that may take some effort.

Continuing to work a series of additional sponsors and some of them will be organizing extra events to increase the fun for everyone.

Mike Epifanio met with the Road America people earliar in the week and they were giving ideas on more fun things that have been done too.

In discussions with the producers of the movie "Rush". Not sure what will come out of it but there is interest to do something.

I am also trying to get some of the One Lap visit to town worked out too.

An assortment of updates:

1. The event website www.fca2013.org will be updated during this week. The update will include registration and additional specifics on the event.

2. The Osthoff Resort is over 65% booked already. Expect that the booking rate will make a significant bump with the updated website allowing registration. Since the FCA has blocked out the entire hotel for the event the Osthoff's website is not allowing on-line booking. One needs to directly call them. www.osthoff.com

3. There are an assortment of alternative hotels and vacation rentals in Elkhart Lake. Go to www.ElkhartLake.com to see the choices.

4. The following is the current list of our sponsors:

Platinum Level
Pirelli - Oficial Partner of the Ferrari Club of America
WeatherTech
Gold Level
Zymol
Silver+ Level
Passport Transport/Schumacher Cargo Logistics
Bronze Level
Ferrari Market Letter
Ricambi America
Catalyst Exhibits
Team Stradale
The Finish Line
We expect to announce a few more sponsors over the next couple of weeks.

FCA 2013 BBLM's

Already have two very experienced drivers telling me they plan to exercise their BBLM's at FCA 2013.
One 333SP enlisted but hoping for more.
