Ride in a Ferrari Enzo

I went for a drive in a Ferrari Enzo with Tax Dr., one of the coolest Ferrari owners around, and here is the video from that experience with "The Beast".

Great video and soundtrack

Bet the residents of that rather nice neighbourhood really love him driving up and down their street like that at 7.00 on a Sunday morning

Thanks Archie, Granucci. There's no such thing as free tax advice if you want an Enzo in your stable not to mention all the accompanying maintenance headaches. The Enzo's loud, but not louder than an old Harley or Ducati. It'll wake up the neighborhood dogs.

Amazing video, and amazing car! My only question is if the car only has straight pipes how does the HP jump from 650 to 750?

The owner told me that modifications were made to the engine and exhaust that go well beyond a typical Tubi setup. No cats, freer breathing straight exhaust, other mods that he didn't go into specifics about. Also said that his mechanic found that most Enzos they put on the dyno tested stronger than the factory 659hp rating by at least 10-15hp. The mechanic actually estimated the hp at between 750-800 with these particular changes, but like yourself I found even 750hp to be a reach without the actual dyno results as proof so I just went with the lower estimate. The car is definitely stronger than any stock Enzo by a noticeable margin.

I would really like to meet Mr. Tax Doctor. Teach him how to take care of a 16M. Might even give him his glasses back.

Great video. How does Ferrari squeeze so much power out of its engines without any chargers? Not just with the enzo.

I think Ferrari engine design is really in a golden age (not that the other ages were bad). Lately they have created some amazing engines, the 458's, the F12's, Enzo etc. And the non-turbo characteristics I truly cherish, they give the car more character, more depth IMHO.

Back in the old days, we used to know the lead designer by name. Does anyone know the current lead engine designer at Ferrari?

So what happens if you turbo or supercharge a naturally aspirated 700+ hp ferrari engine?

You break parts. 13.5:1 compression is not suitable for additional intake pressure, although someone will try it.
