wire wheels clean up

My dad's new car has wire wheels. Very cool, but very rusty and dirty. And when he has finished cleaning them up, he wants them to stay clean. He thinks that the best way is to spray them with silicon spray, because it keeping the water and stuff out. I think it attracts dust and small pieces. Are there any wire wheel owners with a good solution? Not so many old Ferrari owners here I believe

Did nobody understand the problem, or is there just nobody with wire wheels?

Problably no one with wire wheels. Find some "Simple Green" use the concentrated formula, spary lots on the wheel. Use a simple cloth/towel and buff each spoke, rince with pressure. Should come out very clean.

I used to have a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with spoked wheels and cleaning them was a very laborous process. The best way I found was to use "Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish". I would put my hand inside an old cotton sock and apply it to each spoke. I still use Mother's on all my aluminum and chrome.
