Forza Motorsport 2 anyone?

So, I'm looking for comments on how accurate the dynamic engine of the game Forza Motorsport 2 is. I thought it would be a good idea to check here since the forum holds people with real drivning experiences of so many different Ferrari models.

For those of you that have not tried the game I would highly recommend it. And for you that are sceptical or even just think of it to be out of the question I urge you even more so to check it out. The game was released about a year ago and it nothing even close to other racing games out there. In fact it was the first game that saw real reace drivers without pratice beating "gaming nerds" at tests.

There are a huge amount of cars to drive. The complete list when the game was released is at

http://forzamotorsport.net/news/anno...ts/carlist.htm

The Ferrari portion of that was

2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
1994 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
1999 Ferrari 360 Modena
2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello
1991 Ferrari 512 TR
1998 Ferrari F355 Challenge
1984 Ferrari GTO
2004 Ferrari F430
2003 Ferrari Challenge Stradale
1987 Ferrari F40
1995 Ferrari F50
2002 Ferrari Enzo Ferrari
1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT
1964 Ferrari 250 GTO
1967 Ferrari 330 P4
1998 Ferrari #12 Risi Competizione F333 SP
2003 Ferrari #72 Team Alphand Aventures 550 Maranello GTS
2003 Ferrari #88 Veloqx / Prodrive Racing 550 Maranello
2005 Ferrari #11 Larbre Competition 550 Maranello GTS
2006 Ferrari #62 Risi Competizione F430GT

Then it has been added to a couple of times with for example the FXX and recently in march also with

1999 Ferrari F50 GT
1989 Ferrari F40 Competizione
2006 Maserati MC12 Corsa
2007 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
2008 Porsche 911 GT2 (977)
2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
2007 #1 Peugeot 207 Super 2000
2008 BMW Motorsport M3 E92
2008 Maserati GranTurismo
2007 Audi S5
2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X GSR
2007 Audi TT Coupe S-Line
1971 BMW Motorsport 3.0 CSL

Of course you can setup and tune your car in a large number of ways but the great thing is the dynamic engine. You really feel a BIG difference between a FWD, AWD and RWD car. You really feel a BIG difference between a street car and a race car. You really feel a BIG difference if you run on steet tyres or slicks. And you really feel a BIG difference with aspect to what you do or don't with the accelerator, brake pedal and sterring wheel and your shifting. Probably it will be the closest the most of us will get to going down the strait of Mugello in a screaming 333SP. And yes, many of the engine sounds are sampled from real engines... :-)

Ooups this turned out to be a really long post. Do I by that and the topic qualify as a real gaming nerd now? I'm scared...

I have the game but have never driven a Ferrari I don't play it much now because of all the school work I've been getting. But I race online with Alex sometimes. I have every Ferrari on the game except for the Dino and the GTO. I'm not sure that the handling and characteristics of the game can ever compare to the real thing though.

Its an extremely fun and very realistic racing simulator for XBOX360.

Of course you miss out much by loosing the smell, vibrations and g-forces and it can never be like the real thing. But in terms of what effect your input is having on the cars behavior I think it for some of the cars are prety close. And compared to all other games I've tried it's lightyears ahead. As for the Ferraris, you can't set a lower laptime with the 355 than the 360 and then the 430 is faster that the 360. And the 430 GT is faster than the Enzo and so on. And you can really feel the difference in handling and steering between for example the 355 and 360. They really behave like two different cars on the track.

Yea, I do agree in that aspect. I've played pretty much every racing game, and nothing compares to this one at all. This is definitely my favorite game ever, bar none. I do believe the handling is realistic, and the difference between each car is very realistic. You can't go take a Honda and beat and FXX at any point...I've tried. Every car is unique, which is awesome. I am not a fan of arcade style racing, and I can't wait to see what Forza 3 looks like should they make it in the near future. Although, after having the game 4 months and playing the game more hours than I would like to admit I have yet to become bored. Although replay views could be better

My original post was kinda stating that the experience of the two wasn't the same. I am very tired and wasn't thinking straight when I was responding. I'm sure there are a ton of errors but thats ok, I've been studying non stop for the past 6 hours

Cheers,

Chris
