Ferrari Colani, does it exist anyway?

Does anybody know anything about this car, does it even exist??? I saw a few pictures, but not very good quality, and it looked very not-realistic.

It should be built in 1997 and the conversion was done bij Colani. It is equipped wih a 1000 hp engine :-?. And a top-speed of 436 km/h (I highly doubt that one :wink

This is the link where I read it, there are some other sites with photo's but very little info

Anyone???

I think there are 2 colani's

to one i think you are refering to is this concept

there was also something called a colani concept based on a Daytona
it's a real shame of a nice Daytona

i'll dig a bit deeper

Well, I searched a bit further today, after the terrible shock :-?, and I found this picture, which indicates that the prototype that we were talking about is the Testa d'Oro.

So that mystery is solved then, together with the 365 GTB/4 Colani, but then the next picture came up, the site said that this is the Testa d'Oro, but it doesn't look like the first one, so another mystery I guess. It sure looks like a Colani car, but is it a Ferrari-conversion?

The original Testa d'Oro was based on a Testarossa and was used for high speed sprints on the Utah Salt Lakes. The second Test d'Oro, I am not sure about. I think I saw it before, but am not sure whether it was a model (or mock-up) or a real car. IF, and I say IF this car is based on a Ferrari, most probably it should be a Maranello, just like the Pininfarina Rossa.

Here are some links to info on the 1991 Lotec Colani Testa d'Oro (TR-based):

http://www.supercars.net/cars/[email protected]$Lotec%[email protected]$Testa%20D'Orog.html

On this one, follow the link, click on "tuner," and select "Lotec." This will provide you with a selection of Lotec cars. Then click on the "Testa d'Oro" link for more info on this car.

On both sites are the photo's of the mystery car, so I think we are talking about two Testa D'Oro's here. Or maybe somebody once placed photo's of the wrong car, and the rest of the sites did the same after that, or someting like that... I'm beginning to think there are two of them, but I can't read anything about that. Maybe it's time to send an email to the Colani factory or something...

A simple google search gave the following:

Info on the 1991 Testa d'Oro can be found here as well:
http://www.tnx.net/Ferrari%20testa%20d%20oro.htm

Website of lotec:
http://www.lotec-gmbh.de/

Website of Colani:
http://www.colani.ch/

The 'new' one was shown in 2001:
http://www.region-chemnitz.com/de/au...utomesse.shtml
http://www.tunersbest.de/messen/ami2001/074colani.jpg
http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~kotoandq/data/232-29.jpg

There are two, but I am not sure if the 2001 car is really based on a Ferrari or just used an engine of one.
