slowdown cylinder alarms on TR

the slowdown cylinders 1-6 and 7-12 alarms come on intermittently on my 88TR. stay on for a few seconds then go off. the more I drive the car, the less it happens. The dealer says it the ecu's which are expensive to replace. any suggestions, any word on upgrading the ecu's?

These are known to fail. Maybe search for "Slow Down" or "Vescovini" a bit.

These ECU´s are not neccesary for the car, but they are needed to optimize dealers profits.

They first just warn you, then shut off one cylinder bank if they think it is to hot behind the cat converter.

Before you disconnect them, be sure everything is OK!
