Dilemna - Need Help

After much counseling and expert opinion, the 428 seems to be the way to go for this first-time collector with regard to reliability v. cost. However, I cannot get out of my head the image of the 308/328 as being the quintessential Ferrai "look." Money is not the immediate hurdle; however, I would like to know what the "long poles" are in the tent of the 308/328 pedigree. If I go for the 308/328, what will be my biggest regrets for not chosing the 348?
Many thanks in advance,
Roberto

If you go for a 308/328 I am not sure you will regret not going for the 348.

I opted for a late ABS 328 instead of a 348, and I have never regretted it. Not trying to take anything away from the 348, it's a beautiful looking car.

One BIG difference is that YOU can change the belts on a 308/328, but I don't think it's so easy on the 348 and later V8 cars!! Also there's the shape, which is a matter of personal choice, and many of us do like the 308/328 shape more! But I agree, there's NOTHING wrong with a nice 348! Make your own decision and show us pictures!! Ciao!

Price on a late 328 and a 348 will be very close. Personally I would buy the former. A 328 will be lighter on the wallet when it comes to maintenance. Drive them both and then decide.

The 328 is on almost on classic status or is already and has hit its low point. Eventually you will see a rise in its value as it becomes a collectible. Make sure that the one you get has excellent service records and is in good if better condition. The 348 is also a great car and prices are still dropping somewhat, so maybe if you wait a while and be patient you may be able to get a 348 at the current 328 prices.

Check the buyers guide section here to get a better idea on maintenance issues and stats.
