I didn't know the roof could come off like that on the GTB. Isn't it welded to the A-pillar?

No welds, some pop rivets, it's a fiberglass panel, with some poor insulation, that has to be replaced, and the other parts are aluminum with fabric to be glued on them, I am using high grade vinyl instead of the original woven fabric. I've got it in the same color as the original was though. I'm also covering the dome light part with matching vinyl, where it was originally vinyl but of course the rest was woven. Now the light part will match the rest of the headliner perfectly, I hope that looks good. Dennis

A rewarding project. I used leather to redo mine and a layer of 1/2" foam between leather and fiberglass shell for used for padding. The car upholsterer has it.

Most of my time was spend recovering and reassembling the visors and they look great, too. Incidently, I also replaced the push-dodad which snap-attaches the visors to headliner. Using leathique dye, the headliner fully matches the seats.

I posted pictures somewhere last year including the matching package shelf leather. Take your time and you'll be pleased.

Thanks Paul, yes the package tray will be all new, matching too. As for the sunvisors, I'm re-doing the side that shows when they are snapped up, but the other side, which is black and has an original sticker, is staying original, with snaps. Should be able to get more progress pics today! Ciao, Dennis

pics of new headliner installed...

I decided to go with an off white vinyl instead of the original off white woven cloth for ease of cleaning. I also did the dome light housing to match instead of the contrast that was original, what do you think of that? I did leave the topside of the sunvisors black, with original stickers in place. The inside of the A pillars are new, black vinyl also. I hope it doesn't look customized? What do you think of the vinyl instead of the cloth? So far, I love it, comments are welcome! Ciao, Dennis

Looks very clean and tidy, a job well done.
Noticed you've got a heated rear screen, I didn't get one on my 328
