Engine warning light - help!!

Hi. New member. Just got my first Ferrari today --2002 360, 19000 miles. Love it. Problem is the yellow warning light, outline of an engine, just came on after 2 hours!!! Manual says "Engine check system failure warning light"..."indicates failure in the emission control system and ignition/injection system."

Of course I plan to bring it in next week but wondering if OK to drive this weekend.

Help someone!!

Many Thanks
Zul

Zul,

Welcome to the site. You should get it checked as soon as possible. I wouldn't go nuts and put 200 miles on the car this weekend. A short trip out to a nice dinner should be fine.

For things like this I purchased an INNOVA code scanner it will allow you to analyze the fault code and reset the light...I use it on my Maser and reset my friends 360 engine light with it as well...these cars are very picky an improperly tightend gas cap will trigger an EGR emissons fault

the code scanners run about $150 shipped for a brand new one on ebay

you want a 3110 or 3120

Yes, do follow Andrews advice and don't go crazy like I did. What can I do, its my first ferrari, I had to show the whole neighborhood who the new big dog is in town.

Now my buddy/neighbor is looking for a 550

I too did get the check engine light, I still put close to 100 miles after the light had turned on, even raced my neighbors vette just for fun. Car runs fine, but am still scheduled to bring in the 8th of august just to make sure nothing major is wrong.

Don't worry too much, drive that baby

Hey thanks for your note, it does make me feel better. I just got the car and within 2 hours the light came on...this happened to my 996 previously too but got all stressed for nothing as when they cheked it out it was all a false alarm...

Could not help but drive the car...I can hear it calling my name from the garage... so had to drive it, especially over the weekend... brilliant!

Now my girlfriend is nagging me out to take her out... which I will have to do of course...

All the best dude, keep on driving:drive:
