Manual for sure.
The 355 was the first road Ferrari with a F1 like transmission. It wasn't near as good as it is today on a 430 or 599. Slow and uncomfortable in city traffic, can eat the clutch within a few 1000's km's.
But maybe I'm justifing my own choice.

Agree, definitely manual unless you are planning on using the F355 mostly on the track.

The F1 in the 360 is a huge improvement over the 355 F1 system.

I've never used a gear lever in an exposed gate, with that "clink" sound with each shift.

But, from what I've heard, I think I'd prefer it over an F1 transmission from any Ferrari.

I tried both and the paddle shift is really nice but it was an F430, but kind of boring in town after a while, it’s almost like driving an automatic and it down shift automatically for you if you forget, but on a track it must be so cool!

Personally, for the paddles, I would stay away as it removes the fun factor and the 355 F1 is not as reliable as a 360 and wears clutches really fast if used in town.
