Lusso Production - limited

Spoke to the dealer where I purchased the FF asked about the Lusso and when they will be accepting orders.

Odd response - it's limited and slots are going to be hard to get.

Could this be the end of the NA V12.

Doug- The Lusso will be like the FF, no trouble getting a slot. Ferrari dealers need to learn a new song.

I thought the same thing - this could be the last of the V12 NA
with the 2018 engine size regs driving demand.

My thought was if I order the Lusso and the F12M comes out or even harder to get the the F12 Aperta perhaps the Lusso could put me in line.

Then he told me the Lusso was limited - problem is it seems all the dealers have their top tier customers. Only way to break that is the being active in the Pilota racing program.

Napleton just came to St Louis with a huge commitment to Maser wishful thinking they will get Ferrari.

"production limited"

everything Ferrari builds is "production limited"... one cannot walk in off the street and order any new car... popular production models come with a 2 year wait or longer... by the time it arrives new models are announced as replacements... making the phrase almost meaningless... even with cars with intended short runs...

ultimately there is nothing wrong with NOT flooding the market with product... basic supply and demand at work... it's great for retaining values for those reselling and prevents dealers from dumping unsold or slow moving product... it adds to the mystique and exclusivity to the brand... only those wanting a new Ferrari "now" are left a bit bruised... it is genius to retain such marketing / brand power... essentially everyone that is able to buy a Ferrari new or preowned benefits... while retaining high margins reaching well north of 50% ( possibly 70%+)

Just bought a 2013 419k list FF for almost half with 1650 miles no accidents no stories.

Looked at a F12 - 465k sticker 2014 for 335k two years old 2000 miles.

The top handful of buyers at the dealer do well - only by getting limited production cars by limited I mean 1 of 499 and under.

Fromage- If we are talking about a 488 or F12, what you say has some validity, but for a 4 seater, it has no validity.
