If you are considering Chicago Motor Cars, you might want to watch:

Hey Guys,

I came across this last week and thought it was interesting.

The guy doing these videos apparently was screwed by Chicago Motor Cars on a Benz and started to investigate how they do business.

It appears as this guy does his research and gets his facts straight.

FYI - use your own discretion and judgement.

I post this in hopes that it helps one of our members from getting a back car. YMMV

After watching the video and googling Chicago Motor Cars, it appears they have a number of different lawsuits against them. CMC owner sounds more like a scram artist than a high end car salesman.

I think his facts are not complete:
It's more common than we think, it's part of some used car sales -dealer network practice...."If the accident is not reported, than the accident doesn't exist" it's all driven by greed!
Dealer A buys the car at a substantially discounted price, repair it, post a high price to make it appear perfect and sell it locally, the local person finds out and return the car, a distant Dealer B gets a sweet deal and and sell it to a new customer, Dealer B backs off after a blown whistle and return the car back to Dealer A, Dealer A further sweeten the deal and sells it to Dealer C, a sucker buys the car and every one is :laugh2:
More likely..The new buyer has multi exotic cars, following his passion, but never drive it long enough to recognize any drivability problems.
Or maybe, never push it near the limits to notice any kind of un perfection!
THE ABOVE IS MY OPNION ONLY!

From my brief research, his facts are very complete.

In this brief, they actually admit to false advertising

Sorry,
What I meant...dealer whether selling a new or used exotics is less likely to misrepresent a car sold to another exotic dealer!

I bought my CS through them and the car was as described. The only problem was that they said the original exhaust would be included... and it wasn't.

I would be pissed, but having a used car dealer not follow through on something is typical.

omg Dave! I thought about visiting them in the past when shopping for my F430. They are within driving distance. Not after reading all this. I spent the last 2 hours reading the court transcript. Unbelievable. I'm sure hopeful that a good PPI site can discover these fraud cars. I'll be watching if CMC goes under or not. Thanks for sharing and Hurrah for David Bates!

When it comes to buying a exotic, I feel the safest bet is buying it from an authorized dealer, followed by an individual then a used car lot like Chicago Motor Cars. I looked at one F430 at a Mercedes Dealership in West Virginia(yes WV) and didn't feel they were up an up with me. Part of it was that they didn't really know how to sell an F-car and the other was they couldn't come up with any service records except screen shots from who knows where.
