I don't get it either. My old 82 Euro never got anything but smiles and thumbs up.

I used to say that my Mondial wasn't the prettiest Ferrari but that is like saying I'm dating the least pretty supermodel at Milan's fashion week.

Funny that I have not heard that "hating" either. Mine still draws a crowd.

Best regards,

I'm not sure hate is the right word. There's a pretty big disconnect between what repairs take and cost versus what the cars can be purchased for. From strictly a service point of view, they seem to be more neglected than most other models...

And not all are created equal, although often referred to in the same breath.

Mondial 8
Mondial QV
Mondial 3.2
Mondial T

All pose different service situations which can vary considerably in cost, complexity and difficultly. To the uninformed, they can be a real eye opener with regards to "sorting one out."

Considering the packaging and overall performance, it's an amazing car from a technological point of view. From a styling point of view; opinions may vary....

Not forgetting the 500 Mondial.

It's interesting to see the different bodies by Scaglietti and Pininfarina of the 500, they look like totally different cars. I wonder what the mechanical differences are. Admiral?

Hey,

If you ever get tired of that Mondial pass over the keys. That was my dream car back in the day, and I would love to have dream fulfilled with a MD.

One of my neighbors who is also a car enthusiast believes that some people view the Mondial like the Porsche 944. Until recently I had no reason to ask why he draws such a comparison but I find it apropos to ask now.

The problem with opinions is that everybody has one.

How cool, thanks so much! Going to sit down with a nice cup of something to read up on that.

Long, but informative read. I really love the "off the chassis" photos to go along. Thanks for sharing.

The article stated that future versions were much better, and they probably are. The T model requires a more expensive engine out.

You could easily say the same thing about the first series of injected 308s - they were all dogs.

Regardless, I've never seen "hate" directed at Mondials. I've spoken to several owners, who clearly enjoy the cars in terms of reasonable maintenance and visceral driving experience; even if they aren't very fast.

I've always liked them, and after the 308GT4, it was the second model I seriously considered buying.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

The early Mondial 8 is among the top ten ugliest Ferrari's but it doesn't beat the F50.

But for me the Mondails are good looking cars, I used to look at the Mondial t (1985) I actually like them along with the later model t - Cabriolet.

The Mondial 348 t is good looking from many angles.

regards
Johnney
