F430 / Lambo Gallardo

Hello Gentlemen,, I hope all is well you fellows. I have just celebrated my 1st Year in Business for myself. I have to say, that things have been,,well ,, miraculous to say the least.!! I am now making enough money ,to where I can start to contemplate, buying an F430 or a Gallardo at some point within the next 1.5 years. I have to say that I do like the F430, but when I see an F458, my heart and soul,,,are moved with much more intensity...but they are twice the investment, and no manual gearbox. With that being said, my eyes turn to the Lambo Gallardo,,which absolutely moves my insides with the same intensity as the 458., I love the V10 power plant,, and they come with manual boxes, as well as paddles. I have begun to read up on these cars,, and I like what Ive seen so far.. 8-10 year old examples are coming in at under 100k in some instances...which is well within my budget, as far as putting a sizable down payment,,and getting a bank loan for the remainder,,I was at a convention last weekend, where I saw an F430 and a Gallardo parked one in front of the other,,and my decision was made. My dream is to have one parked next to my 328 , at some point down the line. Thanks for reading,,,Brett Lucca

Yesterday, my trusted tech advised me against buying a 458 - too many electronics to go bad in the future = $$$$$ repair bills.

and a broken clock is right twice a day. Josh is an alright guy. i like him. he likely fixed many cars perfectly. but the ones he didn't, oh boy. anyway, congrats on the new biz!d don't buy a gallardo unless you really like tuner meets.

Strange advice. First of all, the number of electronics in any other modern Ferrari from the 430 upwards are certainly not much less, and even from the 550M up it is the same story. Many more electronics than you think, and plenty to go wrong (supposedly). Nonetheless they seem remarkably robust.... Second, what time frame are you contemplating owning the car for? For the next 5 years you certainly don't have anything to fear. I don't hear many issues with the F430 and they are 5 years older than the 458s.

The thing that I would avoid is the F1 gearbox. The 599 eats them for breakfast, and those bills are a lot higher.

Can you expand on this? I've heard nothing but great things about the 458; including viewed as one of the greatest sports cars of all time in terms of all-around capability.

Not sure of the reliability of DCT.

lucca

any tips on getting rid of wood eating black ants? is there a product they eat and bring home to the queen so the colony dies off? they are eating a hole above where my Fcar parks!!! she's hibernating and i get small bits of saw dust on her cover each morning. don't wanna spray them darn chemicals above the Fcar! Ohh, this is a Ferrari post? IMHO the gallardo lacks the curves and lines that the F430 has. someone who owns both should post a side by side photo. I know you guys are out there!
