Owner Photo Shoot Contest on Ferrarilife

Happy to be a member here at Ferrarilife.

I'll be heading to Maranello for a 6th year in a row at the end of March. In celebration of returning to my car's roots, I am going to try to give back to those that I learn from here at the forum. I've done two contest over at Ferrarichat that have gone over well. So I am going to open up another Photo contest over here for these members.

Open to any Ferrari owners anywhere in the world (that haven't won previously). The F355 group that entered over at Ferrarichat are all getting a visit from me this summer, so you know who you are. Open to all models of Ferrari.

Rules:

We'll call it:

The Most Interesting Ferrari on Location
Contest

Upload a favorite photo of your car.

And include:

First Name: (Example: Robb)
Metro Area you live near: (Example: Mesa, Arizona USA)
Ferrari Model you own / Yr / Colors: (Example: 1995 F355 Berlinetta in Yellow / Black
A blurb about what you like about your car: (Example: Made my dream come true when I purchased my first F-car. After picking up my F355, I can't imagine parting with it. Drives are amazing in the mountain roads near my home and I always look forward to hearing the engine and seeing those buttresses and amazing lines.)

That's it.

I will pick the car / owner / and location that I think would be the most interesting combination for a photo shoot to share with the group.

Prizes for ONE LUCKY winner:

One full-day photo shoot of you, your car, and location near you, completed by me. I will fly to you and cover all my costs. You can sit back and look forward to the adventure. Think of your favorite articles in EVO, Top Gear, or Ferrari Magazine. We will duplicate a day in the life of your car.

I will be the sole judge.

Two and a half months to enter. Get it in (How hard can it be) and don't miss it!

Deadline - FRIDAY, MARCH 27 - the day I leave for Maranello.
Winner Announced - Saturday, March 28th from Italy.

Good luck and thanks for your enthusiasm.

I look forward to seeing your entries. My cameras are ready to go.

Robb

Robb,

As I offered before, I will supply a laser marked plaque to the winner with the contest details, etc. We can work out the art work later.

A past older photo is great!

Anything will do. I can visualize! And your car is blue so - maybe bonus points...

Well, I don't have any good photos of the 355, but here is a real old one, circa 1985, of the QV.

Red/tan 1985 308 GTB QV.
Central CT
Purchased new on my 38th birthday.
Delivered to me by Ferrari historian Stan Nowak out of Bob Sharp Ferrari, home of Paul Newman's Datsun/Nissan race cars. The car's 31k miles has seen most of the back roads of CT, MA, VT, NH, New Port RI and in 30 years has never let me down.

Owner Photo Shoot Contest on Ferrarilife

Is it one entry per owned Ferrari?

I'll start with this

Red/Black 1988.5 Testarossa

Annapolis, MD

Purchased sight unseen from Ferrari of Denver sales manager Bill Orth (his personal car).

I asked the Secretary of the Air Force for a ride in one of his planes.
The picture was shot on the tarmac at Langley AFB in VA Beach. Article and pics were published in Prancing Horse by me.

The pilot let me fly his F15 for a bit and I let him drive my TR. The F15 is nice, but it's not a Ferrari Testarossa.

Cost of an F-15: $30 million
Time of flight: 90 minutes
Driving the TR: Priceless

And yes, I also allowed the enlisted crew to drive the TR.

Who says Ferraris aren't driven in the winter? Checkout the frozen fountain!

2000 3-pedal 360 Modena
Grigio Nurburing (sp?)/tan
Annapolis, MD

Taken with an iPhone 4 while out for a drive mid winter. The building is patterned after French architecture commonly spotted in Paris off of Boulevard de Opera and it's called Park Place in Annapolis. The architecture and fountain made for a bucolic setting reminiscent of our many trips to Paris.. The frozen fountain illustrates that Enzo intended the cars to be driven, mid winter, in temps well below 32*F. The crisp, clear sky and setting sun., and soft lighting coalesced into one of my favorite, spontaneous photos of my 360.

It was nice to take my 2nd favorite Ferrari (after my TR) to "Paris" without incurring the shipping charges. The car looked right at home in front of the condo entrance and frozen fountain.

The smaller pic below is an oil rendition.

Robb, great to have you over here! What took you so long??

If Wetpet includes pictures of his lady friends in his submissions, I'll have to concede and withdraw my entries.

This is a great thread gents. Hot chicks, jets and now frozen waterfalls. Ultimately we all know the prize just has to go to the admiral.

And now ducks. Bit bleary eyed this morning. I'm blaming Ed for momentarily losing my focus!

Great entry John.

In-Law's form Trumbull and Narragansett so I like the area.

Thanks for the entry. You have two cars I love in just the right colors.

This contest is a good way for me to get to know all those here and their rides.

Good one Al. What is the color of the 360? Is that grigio Ingrid or something else?

2004 360 Spider
I took this photo shortly after I got back from my second year in Iraq, purchased the Spider, and had just applied my base sticker.
I stood back to see if I had gotten it on straight.
The rank tab and the shield together seemed to be the perfect symbol that
"I got the brass ring."
