What do u do about plates

Ok, I'm a new owner. License plates?
Is there a good way to handle this?
Room for one in the back- but I want something besides the dealers frame.
In the front - nothing. Which is great bit what do you do when the Gestapo ask?
( ok Gestapo may be unfair but you know what I mean)

I never wanted to go into a gunfight with the cheapest gun!

drill the front bumper and put the plate on and stop worrying about being stopped. Thats what I did one of the best things I did on my 360. I had that plate holder that screws into the tow hook and it looked terrible, it worked but looked awful. Drilled, installed, forgot about it.

Congrats on your car Carl. Front plates down here are mandatory due to speed camera detection.

I use 3m double sided tape. Easily removed with a hair dryer.

On the 458 I use the PlateClip from the US. Really happy with it, I can remove it anytime I want. The only downside is that it does rust a bit.

Oh, and the other downside: the plate bends at 330 km/h.

Mandatory in NY. Never use front plate. Keep it handy. I say I told MV that I only needed one because there was no provision for a front plate. MV said they had to give me 2 so keep one as a spare. I say you wouldn't drill holes in the front of this car if it were yours? But mostly police don't bother you. Now if it was a no front plate beat up PU truck........

Onno, that is priceless!

I don't use front plates on any of my cars. For the Spider, I carry it in the trunk with the tow hook mounting hardware. I have been stopped once (but not because of the plate) and explained that I'm going/been to a car show and that points are deducted for all non original items. Didn't get a ticket.

In 40 some odd years of driving, I've never been cited for not having a front plate on any of my cars. Even when ticketed for something else.

I don't even think about it anymore.

plates

I do not use a front plate, Several years ago I got a ticket for not having one. When I went to see the judge,. he asked if I had it fixed and signed off by the chp , I said I didnt, I told him I would just pay the fine.."its a Ferrari. theres no place to install a front license plate" And that was that.......

Just make sure you have the second plate with you at all times. One of the big concerns is that you might have the second plate on another vehicle. If you have it with you there may at least be a chance to talk your way out of a ticket or get sympathy from a judge.

Carl- Since I have a chrome Cavallino and 575M script on the rear of the 575M, I went with a simple chrome license plate frame with Ferrari in black script on the bottom. Would probably work for the rear of your F430, too. Our frames need to be thin on the bottom to show the sticker with expiration date. On the mid-engine Ferraris, the carbon fiber plate frames look good, too.

Dear Terry,

Hope this was an old photo, otherwise your sticker is expired...

Best regards,

See you Sunday.
