Couldn't agree more, Jim, but we don't know what constraints were put on Luca vis-a-vis F1, etc.

But I'd think that would also be one of your conditions: No constraints, let you run it the way you want to - without all the political shenanigans.

Jim, nicely done sir.
You nailed it for me.

While I think Luca did a good job, your ideas certainly have merit.

I also believe the factory workers deserve recognition, even if it's as simple as their signatures on the engine and chassis. If not for them, there'd be no Ferrari.

Congrats on your car sales Jim. Wishing you many, many more to come.

Laughed at your comment about the California's rear end. When I used to own one I couldn't look at it. Nowadays I think it looks OK. Go figure.

David.

As I mentioned on Jim G.'s FB page, I think he forgot one:

Revive the Dino brand by building a sub 1000kg, 400bhp, $175k curvaceous beauty.

Other than that, sign me up!

Let's start a campaign to elect Jim.

About 5 years ago, BMW built a new 1974 BMW 2002 just to demonstrate the depth of their vintage car parts inventory. ... Well, they almost used only new parts bin parts. I talked to the old guy building the car (he was on display like a zoo animal near BMW HQ in Munich) and he said they had to scrounge a handful of used parts; transmission case, hood latch release bar, other stuff. Still pretty amazing.

Agreed; I have heard it said amongst old MB guys that you can build a late 1950s 190SL from the catalog. Probably hyperbole, but still light years ahead of Ferrari. I understand that spare parts was one of the original goals for Classiche. Still waiting . . .

In Jim's case, he might just be looking for correct NOS cup holders for 002C!

Finally, someone with my bent.

and BTW: I'm still certain one is on the way.

also: "Bring Pininfarina into the Ferrari tent." like this and always wondered why it was never done.

Ric, be careful when using the term "bent" with the Brit and especially Scottish membership here.

Ask Habsy or Scottish16M for a translation

as I said on your FB post, i don't know about letting the unwashed into the factory. The rest seemed pretty spot on. Do you think Ferrari is considering you?
