328 Fuel leak issue

I have a fuel leak on my 1987 328 GTS Fuel injected
1 line comes out of the fuel pump and goes into a cannister next to the fuel pump and another line comes out of this cannister and goes to the fuel filter. No problem there however at the back of this cannister there is a tube that protrudes and is bent doen to the chassis about 20 mm long whth nothing attached to it??Should there be something there or not as fuel comes out of here when I start the vehicle and after running for a while it seems to stop ?? Any ideas would be helpful thank you..

The fuel leak you see is from the accumulator. The "leak" is a visual indication that the part has failed. The bent tube is merely a vent to the atmosphere that will always be dry, presuming that the accumulator is still functional. The part is shared with MB and perhaps other cars, so availability should be a non-issue.
