Engine "health" check

Hi everyone.I wanted to ask,is it possible to find out if a car's engine has been "tortured" ? I mean, in a lot of videos in Youtube you see Ferrari doing a coldstart and "flying" away, revving the hell out of the engines and so on,which as far as i have read in another thread in the forum,is something very bad for the engine, especially a cold engine. So is there any way that someone can find out how the previous owner handled the car when buying the car from someone you don't know ( because oviously when you buy a car from a friend or an acquaintance you know more or less how he/she drives the car ) ?

If the history is spot on, and leakdown and compression results are fine, I wouldn't worry
