Jim- Beautiful. Can you imagine how much time it took to make all those louvers? Does she have some modern updates like valve stem seals and coil valve springs?

Did she start as a 125 or a 159? Never mind, 159S.

Hi

The engine started as a 125 and likely ran in either 01C or 02C The first 2 Ferrari's neither of which exist today in their original form. Some believe their chassis were reused and resptamped by Ferrari for later cars but others don't. 002 was the third Ferrari, the first Ferrari sold and the oldest existing Ferrari with continuous providence from it's original COO/Bill of sale signed by Enzo through today.

We did a major restoration in Modena using Sport Auto Modena collaborating with:
Egidio Brandoli
Roberto Brandoli
Andrea Maiele
Stefano Maieli
Pietro Cremonini
Forenzo Fantuzzi
Giulio Borsari
Oscar Scaglietti
Sante Lusuardi
Ener Vecchi

The restoration is a work of Art.

We put the mousetrap valve springs in our museum and made coil spring and added seals.

Jim- Well, those guys should certainly know. Sounds like the correct decision on the valevtrain. All that smoke makes people wonder if something is wrong.

Jim,
What's the story on how you came to own this incredible piece of history?

I was at an Auction at Pebble Beach. I wasn't planning on bidding but I sensed no one in the room was bidding what it was worth. It's a very important piece of Ferrari History, the first car Enzo sold as he put it when he had to sell his race winner to keep the factory going. It won The Turin GP, other races and ran in the MM. After I bought it I drove it in the Historic Targa Florio twice and really loved that. She's a real Time Machine.

Covering the spectrum of Ferrari history and claiming and enjoying the extremes on both ends, ....what more can a man ask for.

Cannot even begin to imagine what it is like to sit behind that time machine, Jim.

I have a line I often use when talking to people about Ferrari and it goes like this "To understand and to truly appreciate Ferrari, you need to appreciate its history".

To me this car is beginning, an important piece of history, a stunning example of art, when it was originally build I don't think anyone realized what they were creating, in essence they started a legend.

Other than Maranello, that's the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.
