330 GT 1967 STOLEN...Help/Hints welcome !!

Dear forum members,

I would have never thought of approaching the forum with such a thing but thats how live goes:

A swiss friend of mine, 76 years of age, together with his wife drove with his 330 GT 2+2
2. series, from Switzerland to Belgium, Malmedy near Spa last Weekend, where he parked his car in town last Saturday, May 10th 2014. When returning later, the car was gone.....! The car was closed when leaving, keys with my friend.
City Police of Stavelot-Malmedy checked the city permanent video and confirmed the filming of 2 individuals entering the car and driving away with it. Police protocol has been confirmed.

Again, reported as stolen: Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, 1967, second series, chassis number 8649, grey metallic exterior.

If you have knowledge or gain knowledge by yourself or outside third parties about the car, or if chassis number 8649 is in whole or partially offered to any of you, please contact me !

I personally drove the car several times, it runs perfectly and the old man is very sad. In addition as often in these days of fastly appreciating prices, the car was grossly under insured.

Thank you for your help and attention !

This is horrible!

People never used to steal exotic cars since they are easy to spot. I hope it's a one off incident with joy riders and not organised interests.

Salve,

Sorry to hear of your friends bad news. We have to wonder if the thief understood how difficult it will be to profit from the crime. Even the parts would incriminate a would be seller. I hope your friend recovers his car soon.

Thank you Scott. Yes I thought the same when hearing this. All I can do is write about as this community is widespread.

212,
horrible history !!!!
I'm very sorry for your friend, and sometimes I'm afraid we're going back to the Middle Ages ....
Where is our freedom ?!?
For my side, I send the data of this car to my dealer "Malucelli", and i inform him about this.
Greet your friend from me, and tell him that I am close.

unfortunately the outcome can go in many directions... best is a safe return in short order... dependence of the F car community for vigilance to locate the car approaches wishful thinking...
there are posts searching ( here and elsewhere over the internet ) for a stolen 330LMB and other F cars dating back for years... followed by posts attacking the voracity of the claims... the F car has become a sought after brand / status symbol that some are willing to risk harboring a stolen F car at all cost, regardless of how it was acquired or out someone that is harboring an ill gotten car...

I agree on your assumptions...unfortunately so, Kind like with rare paintings..... Some want-to-be-owners do whatever it needs to get their psyche into Balance again.

well, painting can hang on wall...cars need room to move.

This may not go well, but hopefully someone will help get it back: It is so hot and difficult to move that trashing it might be the thief's best option. I see 330's increasing in value.
