Arizona Copper State Rally

Every year here in AZ, the Copper State Rally is conducted. Entrants to the rally are chosen from among a field of potential applicants ... who have to pony up an entrance fee of around $6000. The criteria for the cars is that they must have been made prior to 1973 and they have to have some historical significance. All proceeds are used to support the arts through the Phoenix Art Museum.

Enough about the event already ...

I was at the kick off on Sunday and took some photos. The cars were outstanding. Many rare Ferrari's, but many other rare cars as well.

I posted some photos ... perhaps you would enjoy seeing them.

Interesting photos, great cars: thankyou, Steve. Do you have any idea what car number 68 is? It looks like an Arnolt-Bristol, but I have never seen one with a roof before.

Best wishes, John

Sorry, but when I took photos of the cars, #68 did not have a placard. But as I recall it is an Arnolt Bristol. I believe a 1956.
Here is #68 with enlarged area of the hood and fender badges ...

I am not sure, but I want to say that this car may be one of two or three ever built.

Here is link to auction result in 2007 ... the car sold for $451,000 back then.
