Eye Hook on a 550

On my 550, I have a large eye hook which screws into the front end. Is this the hook I need in order to race my beast or what is its use?

Bart- That is a tow hook and you hope to never have to use it. Some racetracks do require an installed tow hook so your errant vehicle can be safely towed. One of the folding ones sold by Ricambi/Hill Engineering would probably be a good investment if you track her.

The threaded hole up front is also handy for a license plate holder that is easily attached and removed pending discussions with LEOs.

So I can track the car using the hook. Great.

As for a license plate holder, NO. I have driven the thing for a long time in California. Many times the CPH have given me points but never a ticket for something my beast does not want.

granted but in SF be aware that is like candy to the SFPD, $100 a pop...stopped driving there for a long time until I did the screw in plate thing and HATE even that for the short duration.
