Ferrari 575 GTZ Headed to RM Auctions

The one-off Ferrari 575 GTZ, which was commissioned by renowned Ferrari collector Yoshiyuki Hayashi and announced at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, will be sold to the highest bidder at RM Auctions Monaco on May 17.

The 575 GTZ was built by Zagato to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Ferrari 250 GT. It was intended to be a modern interpretation of the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Zagato, the first Ferrari ever styled by the Italian coach building company. The 575 GTZ features Zagato’s hallmark “double bubble” roof and two tone paint scheme, both features of the original 250 Berlinetta Zagato.

The one-off Ferrari is based off of the Ferrari 575 and shares most of its major components with the car, including the 508 horsepower 5.7 liter V12 engine, which helped the 575 accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 202 mph. There are no estimates on how much the 575 GTZ will sell for, though considering it is the only one existence, don’t expect it to come cheap.

Mike- There were actually six of the 575 GTZs built, some with 18" wheels like this one, and some with 19" 575M wheels. All had detail differences.

Wouldn't trade my Spider for all six.

They are indeed an acquired taste. From some angle these car look amazing but from others not so much.

Zagato took the effort to create a whole new body (which from some angles is impressive) but then left the stock rims on it which in my opinion are detrimental to the aesthetics of this car.

Alex- About half of them came with the 19" wheels, which look much better. Zagato also did 550 spiders, which had Barchetta wheels. Those would have looked better with 19" wheels, too. One reason for OEM wheels was getting the cars approved for sale. One less thing to certify.

That barchetta is seriously beautiful - 550 or 575?

Best wishes, John

The Barchetta is SEXXXY

The 575 Z in Florida was asking 1.75 million if memory serves me- I started a thread on it. My understanding is that the green interior is striking in person.

I bet the Auction brings 1.0 M Euro. Any takers?

It is an interesting cross /niche- not quite bespoke as the true one offs but the heritage and cachet of a Zagato collaboration must be valuable. Maybe in twenty years.

I have regretted often, but repented never. Is this a good thing? -Enzo Ferrari

John- The Spiders were 550s, the coupes were 575Ms.
