Exotic car appraisal

Hi, I own a 1987 328 GTSi with 55,000 miles. Does anyone know about what this car will be worth in say 10,20 or 30 years? It's in very good running order even down to the clock, it's never been in a wreck. I did change to European side mirrors and a red spoiler. I bought it for 39,000 about a little over a year ago. What's the best place to see what a ballpark price for now? I know it depends on demand and how the economy is growing. Should I try to hang on to it as a collectable? I really like to drive this model. Would a Testarossa be better? Thanks.

Pros: last car Enzo helped produced. One of the most popular designs, easier maintenance.

Cons: many produced, not that powerful

Thanks for any help or advice!🚗

IMO, no one on earth can tell you the answer to that question. Many will opine but should you find the crystal ball or its equal that can reliably predict such things, I have a few questions to ask, myself...

In the meantime why not settle for the car you already have (it's a very nice looking beastie; I have one very similar myself!), or else one you'd like to own, drive, maintain, and can afford, and not worry so much about such stuff. F'r instance, who could have predicted the sky-high appreciation of Dino 206/246's only a few years ago??? As has been said, only time will tell.

Rich- Affirmative, if we knew what was going to happen that far out, we would all be wealthy.

And while you are about it could you please tell me who is going to win the 3.30 at Newmarket today?

Best wishes, John

John- I lived in Bury St Edmunds for 4 years and one or our favorite restaurants, The President, was in Newmarket, I think. That was quite a while ago, though, so not sure it is still in business.

Thanks for the advice. I do love my car but was trying to save up for a Testarossa although I know the maintenance issues. Just wondering which would be a better collector. So many 328 were built. I'm 6'4" and the Testarossa is a lot easier to fit in.
I did see the Dino who it appreciated it. I hope that happens to me some day. I prefer the gearshift over the paddle shift as well. Well thanks again!

P.S. If I drive it for a long time I feel like an astronaut returning from space and they have to ride in a wheel chair until their body can adjust😬

The important thing is to buy what you like. Yes, a lot of the 3x8 cars were built but so what? So many have described these cars as the perfect Ferrari that that sort of accolade ought to be difficult to ignore. In any event keep up whatever you wind up with and you really can't lose money. Remember that the 328 in particular has nearly identical performance figures as the 275GTB, a 12 cyl car... not bad, what? No matter, what with all the spycams nearly everywhere today it's fun, not top end performance that should really count. By comparison to today's cars, the 308/328 represents basic, no frills fast motoring on a pretty high level, rather than the luxomobile autodrive cars that are currently popular. So which direction do you prefer...Rolls Royce/Bentley/Mercedes, or F1? Boy racer, or motoring "squire"....?
