High Mileage 550 Maranello

Other than Bart, are there any people who have had experience with high mileage 550s'? Are there specific areas of concern or vulnerabilities aside from routine wear and tear? Given that Ferrari has presented this as a car that offers "daily driver" convenience and reliability, one might also infer that it should offer substantial durability as well.

Any thoughts?

Many Thanks!!!

I think this is one of the best cars that Ferrari has ever produced. I have not heard complaints about them from the owners and some have had them since they were introduced.

I don't have knowledge of cars reaching significant mileage (even by Ferrari standards), although a car with 60Kmi was re-sold in Switzerland a while back.
Don't know of fundamental reliability issues, there are hassles, gremlins and design shortcomings, but nothing really fundamental.

The average usage patterns are probably not comparable to V8s either.

I have only heard positive things. The engine and drivetrain have a reputation for being "bullet proof"

"Yipes" indeed!!!
I hesitate to ask, but, aside from the obvious belts and fluid change, what does the 60,000 mile service entail? Does one need to notify Mr. Greenspan prior to moving such sums?

DAB.
