need part solution for shifting problem

I have an aggravating problem with my '91 testerossa. Recently when shifting from first to second to third gears each successive gear doesn't have the kick of power you would expect from shifting. For example, shifting from first to second feels like i'm already in fourth gear. Basically it feels more like a Civic than my Ferrari. Any input regarding a cause and solution would be great.

Engine power must be way down if it is that noticeable from your previous experience. Get it checked-out professionally. Other than that, are the brakes/handbrake binding? (the smell should tell you!)

Not that I can tell. I'm shopping around for shops that cater to Ferraris in the MD/VA/DC area.
