599 HGTE rims on California...

Hi! today I saw a picture of a california with HGTE (559) rims and it just looks amazing much better than the one that came with the car… but 599 are much wider and i don't know it will fit and not damage the wheel arches… Any body know if its possible?

Still don't like them. They look like hot wheel wheels.

Sebastião- I like those wheels on the 599 and they look good on the 612 and 458, too, plus the California.

599/HGTE/SA Aperta

HGTE/SA Aperta Five Spoke 20”, 5 X 114.3 mm
Front 8.5J X 20 ET 40 mm, Rear 11J X 20 ET 63.8 mm

California

V Spoke Forged 20”, 5 X 114.3 mm
Front 8J X 20 ET 44 mm, Rear 10J X 20 ET 52.5 mm

As you can see from this, the wheels are only 0.5" wider in front, so not a problem, and 1" wider in the rear. The rear offsets differ by around 0.5", which means the additional width goes half on one side of the hub and half on the other side, so again no problem.

In general, the wheelwells on Ferraris are huge, which allows Novitec and other aftermarket manufacturers to fit wheels even wider than the HGTE wheels.

Cutter- It is impolite to jump in and tell someone you do not like something they do like. You would not do that if you were looking at someone's car in a parking lot, so why do it on this forum? Opinions are fine if solicited, but not always welcome if nobody asks.

Taz, I am sorry if I came across that way. That was not my intent. I was simply giving my opinion in which I thought would be appropriate....perhaps I'm wrong. If I offended you, I am truly sorry.

Thanks Taz! the ones i really wanted was the Optional HGTE style rims for the cali which are a little bit different but they are very rare and very expensive! so the 599 seem be a better deal… and it will just look amazing and unique!

Those look like F355 Challenge wheels, which have the wrong bolt pattern for the late Ferraris, 5x108 mm vs 5x114.3 mm.

speedline 348 challenge wheels and u are correct, 355 too and yes 4,1/4 to 4,1/2

had the standard )no charge wheels powder coated white… enjoyed both the 348c, mondial t. I like to shift gears, but the Cali is a good fit for me now. still getting used to the DCT really miss the occasional double clutch and a blip here and there.

I did not like the Cali when it first came out… but really like it now.

They're an option on the California 30 Handling Speciale (Final Edition) model Michael, very lightweight & supercool in the 'flesh'. Circa £8k + tax for the set.

I deliberated hard about these rims Terry, however once I saw them on my Cali I was delighted, with the colour combo & all the external CF it makes my Cali a standout IMO, its one of my favourite Fcars to date.

The Handling Speciale version is a proper drivers tool. I drove my friends standard 2011 Cali yesterday & had forgotten how floaty they were, as the body roll on mine is none existent, really handles like a gokart, with terrific feel & feedback...it's up there with my 16M on the road & its quicker too, seriously it's that good!!!
