I don't know... with only 499 made, it gives someone else a chance to live the dream.

Absolutely not Cutter, that's how most of us get our cars.
I count on the fact there's someone out there who ordered a 458 just the way I want it...

Maybe it's just my personal taste but this car just doesn't do it for me.

To me, it looks like a poorly designed and executed kit car of some sort.

Perhaps, like the Enzo, it looks better when viewed in person.

I too am finding it hard to love at first sight.

There is so much going on visually with the LaFerrari, it looks heavily decorated to me. It is F1 derived so it probably means that all that "decoration" is needed to let form follow function, however, visually, form does not even imply function.

Maybe it is working at a different metaphorical level for me: modern cars have become so complicated I can't understand them anymore. Usually the complexity is hidden under the skin. The LaFerrari expresses visually what is already implicit electromechanically.

Having said all that, ... I want one!

Am I reading it correctly

That was the FIRST LaFerrari publically for sale? Is this just a quick cash grab for 1M Euro? It is a commodity.

Perhaps those high up on Ferrari's list ( Treynor? Paul, Others) could tell the implications of 1) turning down the offer of purchase and 2) selling so soon after purchasing?

As far as beauty goes, I think it will age well.

If I had an extra 3.25 million USD around, I would buy it. Would not blink.

That is for sure an easy way to make money… and an investment with remarkable returns.
Ok, everybody is free to do whatever they want with their money and their purchases but… I hope Ferrari will remove the owners' name from the list for the next special car.
The number 1 then, is even more special...

Is it the no. 1 though (as in the first of the production line)?
or is it "one of 499".

I'd be shocked if the first of the production line was for sale as a second hand car already!

I would expect the #1 to be in someone's special garage and not immediately up for sale. The SN should show the sequencing better. Does look rather like 1:499 [first one] and not one of the 499 as quite fancy if not bold for an interior plate.

You see Cutter. Just as I hoped, a 458, exactly to my specs, is now being sold for the second time. Two more cycles and it will be mine.
I'd like to congratulate (thank) the original owner, he has impeccable tastes...

I see your point. But for the owner to sell one of the greatest cars ever made and to just sell it after a couple months....makes no sense.

I'll fight you for it.

The article I read said it was the first. 1/499 not 1 of 499.
