Already winter conditions

You may remember last year around this time, Nigel (coming from the several factories tour in Modena) tried to cross the Gotthard pass with summer tyres on his 550, just to realize that a U-turn before the pass is the best to do ?! Well this season the same picture, snowfall to 800meters above see level and massive traffic problems allover. Well lets hope we still have a couple of chances this year to take our "babies" out. For the first time since owning it, I put a red "winter hat" on "F". The inside the cabin "rumble" when driving will be louder, but for me, the "lines" of "F" are more subtle with the hard top on. What you think ?

Hi 212, I prefer it with the hard top on, than without it. Can we have some more pictures please.
I've learnt my lesson, I'm going to a meeting in Switzerlaznd later this month, by train!

The lines are better with the top on for me anyway but driving is better in the barchetta configuration.

I'm fine but we're a bit (too) busy. A few more weeks and things will settle down, I hope.
Snow already....wow, that's early!

I like the hard top on. But I understand all too well why people leave it off.

The Gotthard Autobahn to the Tunnel is snow free as of this afternoon and next week. It will get warmer again. No Problem with the FF.

Super thanks, she will be on a Monaco to Dusseldorf run, and back.
I am trying to fit in a few long runs before the winter Reifen have to be fitted, and she then stays in the south for winter.

You know, I believe to have found a little trick, so the closed roof version inside the cabin noise is not as loud it usually is: I put soft kautschuk disks between (above) every of the 6 fixation points, thin enough to not alter fixation angles but thick enough to have a vibration dampening effect. Little work, good effect (at least to my ears)

212, great photos, superb car. By kautschuk, I presume you are refering to an elastomer, either a natural or a synthetic rubber..

Looks great!

Now that D is undergoing a gearbox overhaul the F50 will be a 100% versatile substitute with the roof on to keep the rain out. Perhaps you can get studded winter tyres for it?

My pleasure, Habsy!

Your FF looks great in the flesh in that colour combo! Interesting to see that it's the same length as the Panamera which was standing next to it in the garage. It's a close call to swing around in that garage with my 612, how was it with your FF? Even my Corniche is a doddle in the F. Pelli Autosilo but the Scag really is big in there.
