I guess coating it in a protective layer would work. Don't know the name of it, a glossy finish probably too.

And the boot is opening the wrong way xD.

Interesting key though.

There is a great thread someone did a few years ago on repainting the key......the title escapes me right now, but I'm sure if you do a thorough search of the forum you can easily find it.....it was a very clever technique and the results were quite nice IMO.

Your dealer can order a new case for you for sure, new key is around 300 euro i believe, pretty sure its easy to just open the key and repaint the case... But imo you should just leave it like this!

Sebastiao,
The paint thread I was thinking about was done back in Jan 2013, by REDLIGHTRICH, it's under the 360 forum and is titled: "Key cokor change (pix)". Thats not a typo either it is, thats why i couldnt find it, b/c he misspelled "color". But anyway, it shows step by step how to repaint the key fob, if you wish to do it yourself, like Nick said above.
It doesn't look to difficult overall, but obviously a lot more time consuming than ordering a new one. Also the thread is for a 360 key fob and not a California, so that may change it somewhat.
Anyway, good luck, hope it helps.

You can buy a key from the Ferrari Store at what possibly appears to be a better price than a dealer if you just require the case from it. The only caveat is that the website does not show if the reverse side has the function buttons on it.

California key - Ferrari Store

Current: F50, 246 GT (x 2), 246 GTS
Past: 360M, F430 spider, 430 Scuderia,
California (x 2), 458 Italia (x 2), 458 spider, 246 GT
