12-Year-Old British Boy Owns Three Ferraris

What were you doing when you were 12? Chances are you weren’t out purchasing Ferraris with the millions you had made from creating a single, extremely-popular mobile app. However, for a 12-year-old British boy named Callum that’s reportedly just what he has done to become the world’s youngest Ferrari owner.

FgearTV on YouTube recently met up with the young entrepreneur to briefly talk about his successes as an app developer but primarily to talk about the Ferrari 355 Berlinetta he ‘purchased’ when he was 10 which he later gave to his dad, and his brand new Ferrari 458 Spider and a rare Ferrari 599 GTO. Callum claims to have purchased all three cars with his own money after selling his app to Google for 8.5 million Pounds.

Due to his age, Callum is only allowed to drive his Ferrari 458 Spider and Ferrari 599 GTO on private roads or on the track but he does state that he uses the Ferrari Spider as a daily driver and the Ferrari 599 GTO strictly as a track car. He then goes onto reveal that he’s interested in purchasing the sold-out LaFerrari. While all of this may sound too good to be true, Callum is set to feature in a new documentary series from FgearTV which will hopefully answer all your questions and queries.

Lol, it seems that creating and selling an android app today is well worth it. This isn't the first time I see youngsters getting loads of money for applications. Although I think it was his father coordinating him through the whole thing as I don't think the boy was able to make the app all alone at his tenth year. (Guessing from the 355 owning's age.)

He is just allowed to take them to private tracks as I saw, but well enough at that age...

Ok - who trapped a 40 year old man in a 10 year olds body!

Either that or it's Boxers unclaimed love child

Regardless - someone needs to get him on this forum.

Got to admire the kid for chasing his dreams and living large.
His father seems rather grounded and a good dad too.

I hope the BOTH find their way to this site.

Product of some fine British schooling :-)

I question the validity of this:

1. There hasn't been any announcements by google, press releases or any other dailymail or such news websites promoting such a thing.

2. He never mentions his app, you would of thought marketing and advertising would have been good in the video no?

3. I also question why he would say his wealth out to the public, most people wouldn't do this. Maybe this was for a school project or something, maybe his fathers cars.

We will see, I'm sure other people on jalopnik will be demanding answers and wanting follow up stories.

The recent app sale is to Yahoo by a 16 yr old youth in the UK. He was 14 when he created the apps and now he is out of school with £20mm in the wallet. He was from the same school as my two boys.

Like I said, there are several youngsters outta there who created an app than sold it for millions. Looks like a great business. Guys, don't we want to create our own app? Have no idea how to start but shall figure it out!

British teen sells mobile news app to Yahoo for $30 million - Los Angeles Times

I think the story in the LA Times was probably real and nothing to do with us.

Our video was just a joke that kind of became a monster. We were winding up the presenter who thought Callum was real and telling the truth. Plus it was a follow up to the original one 2 years ago.

It was totally unscripted and Callum was just making things up as he went along. The idea of the App and everything else was all his.The kid is an absolute genius!!!

I'll upload a video showing the reveal soon. It's only 90 seconds long but quite funny.

This is the first place I'm posting this up. Out of all the forums I've read this was actually the nicest and not one insult.

I'm still laughing.

Yes, this forum is much nicer than others with good people who assume everyone has positive intent (and a good sense of humor).

Thanks again for posting, quite enjoyable.

Tell him I suggested he should have held out for $30M like Nick in the LA Times article.

I second that. (Both sentences.) Arriving soon to my first year here (by being a registrated member) and just love the good atmosphere here. Quite a few forums I've experienced this on. In a few years, especially after meeting with others from here I could say that it's my second home lol.

@Angelis: Looking forward to that video guess it will be plain awesome after all this!

Here you go:

It's been a week since we uploaded the video about Callum and his 3 Ferrari's and we decided it was now time to tell you the real story.

The video was filmed for two reasons. First as an update to the original video we did about Callum and his Ferrari 355 (which belongs to his father) and secondly to have a bit of fun with the Presenter, Yusef who thought the whole thing was real. He's not acting, he really did think Callum was for real.

What makes the whole thing such great viewing is that it was all unscripted and unplanned. We bumped into Callum and Paul at a recent event and in the video Callum was making things up as he went along. The guy is amazing and one of the nicest kids you could possibly meet!!!

And yes... he really is 12 years old.

Contrary to what has been written on websites and forums around the world, no one is promoting anything, selling anything or trying to be deceitful in anyway. In fact fGearTV is slowly winding down as we are now concentrating on another video channel.

It was just a bit of harmless fun that went a little viral.

We hope you enjoyed it and weren't offended in any way.

Many thanks to Callum, Paul and Yusef.

The video above contains additional footage which should explain everything. Remember, the Presenter thinks it's all real and is not in on the joke..

Best wishes to all.

The fGear team.
