Bluetooth Phone Microphone Position

I have 360 Modena and I recently installed a new CD Receiver to replace the original Becker radio unit. The new unit has Bluetooth phone, and I installed by tucking the microphone up in the headliner to the left of the sun visor. The microphone is directed downward toward my head. When I am on the phone, the person on the other end states they hear a lot of background noise. This may be something that is unavoidable, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with various microphone positions. For example, anyone position the microphone on the steering column? What has been your experience?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, I tried several locations and the spot that did the trick is 3" down from the headliner on the driver side column against the window. There's still background noise but your present location is most likely picking up reflection from the windows - including the rear. The clip I have required the column cover to be removed to set it in correctly. Good luck!

Thanks for input. Over on the other forum, I posted same question and a person over there also indicated they got good results positioning the microphone on top of the steering column shroud. Did you try the steering column?

Regards,

Steve
