GTO and Miura could have been more. F50 is ok, but was hoping for more. F40 was a surprise! 275GTS also.
Lusso was amazing!

Just my opinions.

My understanding is that there are additional 12% commision plus 20% VAT on top of the hammer price ?? If so, those are not peanuts for me !

12% is correct. VAT not sure if it was included or not...

Nick, from my understanding, the VAT was either 20 or 18% in addition to the hammer, thus bringing the grand total to the ballpark of 980,000 euros or so for the 288.

+12% Buyers Premium and than VAT on top. Sure that money is no penuts, but was hoping, more for the GTO and F50. Compare to the Enzo and F50, both big numbers in my opinion.

Sorry but my link did not seem to work.

Maybe someone can connect ?

Thanx.

Very unfortunate incident for everyone, especially the owners and auction house.

I've heard that VAT is only added to the buyers premium. It depends who is the seller of the car if VAT is added. If the car is owned by a private person (not registred for VAT) or a business. Rgds/Thomas

That is correct. VAT on buyer's premium is due to all buyers.
VAT on the car is only chargeable if you keep the car in Italy. If the car is shipped to other country, then it will depends on the tax regime of that country.

Jimmy,

Both yes and no.

Some countries have a registration tax which can be 100% of the car price. The taxpeople might get interested if it's an expensive car and you're not making enough money from your work to have the funds to buy it. They will track every transaction you've done, down to the price of a Big Mac. It also depend on how old the car is. Most countries within EU dont charge VAT if the buyer is a private person, the car is 6 months old and have at least 5000 km. Rgds/Thomas

The 288 GTO came WITHOUT the original warranty booklet.

I was at the auction this saturday, and I'd like to clarify the issue regarding VAT:
-- for EU cars bought by a EU bidder VAT was applicable only to the buyer's premium, and not to the hammer price
-- however the Enzo, 599 and Barchetta were subject to VAT on the full purchase price as stated on page 292 of the catalogue

this brings the final price paid for the Barchetta to 183k, that of the Enzo to 1294k and that of the 599 to 1190k
