DMC Tuning Germany - Defrauds Numerous Exotic Car Owners

Some of you may know about this company, some may not. I'm sure some of you are members on other car forums though and could share this. DMC has "made" some kits for various Ferrari's like the Cali and F12. This stuff has just recently hit the web. I wouldn't share this here if it wasn't somewhat important. It's a long read but it ends with a bang, or well an explosion. In short, DMC has been buying kits made by another company and then reselling them at a huge mark up after they rebranded the parts DMC (think around $25k for a whole kit). The customers did not know this.

I usually avoid these types of i-slams (not the religion) but was up very early and I had nothing better to do this early so I indulged. Most of the thread is typical poorly constructed net-mud-stinging, BUT the ending was a nice wrap up hit. LUCEEEeeee Yu got splainin to do.....

Best part was when they referred to their own exhaust system as the possible problem why the check engine light was on. Also, that rear diffusor thingy about the Murciélago hit hard as well. Always had some bad feeling about DMC, but didn't expect that.

Yellow Novitec F12 for the win though, nothing can beat that mean look.

So much of that aftermarket, low quality crap around when I hear or see the word "Tuner" I run and hide.

Far more junk than quality around. So much made by some teenagers in a garage somewhere. A website can make you look very legitimate.

I've been told there is a release 4 coming sometime today. So the story isn't over. At this point, I'm not sure how the 4th release will turn out. It just keeps getting crazier, no idea what to expect. All I know, it's gonna be good.

+1! That brings one back to the philosphy of: Keep it simple and original. It has proved well over time.

There have been some updates since I started this thread. For example, DMC has ripped of Novitec Rosso's parts for the 458.

I have been more or less in the car aftermarket business since 1977 (nothing Ferrari, it's just my hobby) and there are plenty of shady people. I've probably heard it all by now. Car Magazines who want cash in a plain envelope to write fake test results about your products to customers who want parts for free or they will write bad things about you on the forums or what not. I quit selling software a few years ago and the copycats no longer have anything to ripoff. The products I still make are tested and certified by TÜV in Germany where aftermarket is a very big business. If a new business pops up somewhere and they offer stuff for high price cars and they have no previous reputation I would ask for references. Expensive stuff just dont come from Santa Claus overnight. If it smell like a rat and looks like a rat it probably is one. That is the negative side of a free market. The other end is to do like in Sweden where it's now basically illegal to change anything on your car. It's even illegal to wash your own car at home in many towns. The conditions to run a small business here is probably one of the most regulated in the world and therefore very difficult. The question is, which way do you prefer? There are many ways to protect you from business scams or should everybody be foreced wear brown uniforms 24/7? Rgds/Thomas

WOW!! Am I glad they haven't offered any kits for the 430 Coupe. Not that I have that kind of money to throw away.
