16M Capristo - Cat inefficiency default

The 16M is being serviced at Lake Forest 300 miles away and the cat inefficient default was reset.

My guess is it will come right back - any solutions are appreciated.

Doug, I have no experience with these O2 simulators, but it might be worth a try as the cost is minimal, so really not a great deal to lose.

Doug, Sorry to see the frustrations with the Capristo exhaust. I guess with all the hassles, you would or would not do the Capristo system regardless of the sound and performance increase?

BTW, Lake Forest is where I got my 16M. Great dealership, very courteous and still helping me with little issues, like maybe carbon rockers. They also had some really impressive McLarens when I was checking out the 16M.

Send the ecu's to Evoms and get their tune. More hp, and no more cel issues regarding your cats.

Thanks Guys!

Hugh - seems quick and easy might be worth a shot.

Tim it's just a lil bump in the road - I bought one of those Mac's at Lake Forest . Assume you are loving that 16M! One of my CF rockers were just exchanged under warranty but it looked fine.

Perhaps LF could sell it to you vs throw it in the trash - certainly worth a call to Nick Mancuso

Mark - could always use more hp wonder what their turn around time is.

Russell - are you speaking from experience ... if so results?

Their turn around time is 24 hours, if you select next day shipping. They just need to know your current exhaust upgrades.

If you ever saw the video of a Fabspeed 430 with headers, hi-flow cats and exhaust with Evoms ECU tune vs. a stock 16M, the 16M lost every rolling race easily.

Doug, sorry to hear you have an issue with the Capristo cats.

Do you have the cat inefficiency fault on both cats or on one specific cat? Are your cats of the latest generation made by Capristo?

Ty Russell!

Mark - gave them a call but waiting to see if it happens again.

StefVan - dealer just told me cat inefficient default.

Dealer also stated that they had another similar issue Capristo sent out a new unit and all was good. I wanted the car back there are so many solutions once the fault appears again.

Either way it's no big deal especially if I gain some hp.

After having the Mclaren for a few weeks then popping in the spacious 16M - letting her rip she was certainly missed.
