Road Trip to Ron Tonkin

Made the 200 mile trip this morning. Left at 6:00 A:M. 20 degrees out and no heat! It was not working so I rubbed my hands together on the way. Arrive at the service center and they go over the headlight issue, and take care of driver's side door pocket rattle, and door handle rattle, just some loose bolts.
Terry, their Master Tech had seen the heater problem before, he just had to reset the ECU's and like magic, now have heat.

Jacob was my salesman, he had everything all ready for me, even had a big plasma TV with a Grigio and a Yellow 458 saved. Decided on yellow. Basically got all the options I discussed in the other thread, added DALA which adds alcantara for seats, headliner, and door panels. Deleted homelink, ec mirrors and front and rear parking sensors. 283k out the door, delivery expected in October. Also got put on their waiting list for the 458 Challenge, but a few guys that bought new 430 Scuderia's are
ahead of me.

Funny when Jacob takes me back to the service center, he choses a silver Mini Cooper S. For a minute I thought my daughter called earlier, because she wants one after graduation, so I thought it was a sales pitch for another car. It was just a funny coincidence.

All and all, a great experience, quick and painless. Now need to put the 360 Spider up for sale, but Jacob said he would pass the word.

Got pulled over on the way back, Sheriff said he couldn't see my temporary plate in the passenger side window? He told me it needs to go on the driver's side, just let me off with a warning, even though I was only going 5 mph over. Yeah right, he just wanted a peak.

Mark- I think the title of the thread probably kept people from opening it. Ordered a New 458 would have gotten a lot more attention.

Congrats. October must seem a long way away now! Will be worth the wait.

I like the 458 in yellow, here's the one I test drove before Christmas...

Probably right. Remember talking to you about that cool yellow 575 that was at RUF Auto Center this summer. If it wouldn't have been in an accident, would have been my first yellow car. Loved the carbon interior upgrades on that car. Think it went for below 100k.

Hopefully the 458 will show up before winter, but no big deal, as RTGT has their own delivery trailer. The other 458 owner here always has his delivered by them.
