Specing a 2012 458 Italia

Planning on going to Portland to get the warranty issue with my 2009 Scuderia taken care of. Also planning on ordering a 2012 458.

Can't decide between Yellow, or Grigio Silverstone? Have most of the other options picked out, leather race seats, etc.

How much of a deposit are dealer's asking for for those that have ordered one. RTGT says $20k is their normal requirement for everyone. Seems kind of steep, but if that's the deal, oh well. Just seems like a lot of money to be out for 6-8 months, vs. keeping it invested.

I have been told a March order will result in an October Delivery date, does this seem realistic? Would not want the car delivered in December, because of the weather.

I don't know why, but I am just not a fan or the metallic blacks that Ferrari produces. I am already pushing it with 3 black cars, and my fiance' said I could have another car, but it has to be yellow.

Will also give me plenty of time to sell the 360 Spider and the 2002 Lotus Esprit 20th Anniversary Edition.

Here are the options I am considering:

Yellow with black interior and carpets (will have to discuss alcantara carpet options)
Scuderia Shield's
Yellow brake calipers
Sport wheels grigio
Sport sills
Hi-Fi
Ipod
Cruise Control
Race Seats in Leather, with yellow stitching, is leather more comfortable?
Carbon Steering wheel with L.E.D's
CFRP - Carbon Fiber Racing Package, or might go MaCarbon if significant cost difference
Alcantara Headliner
Alcantara Door inserts
Internal & External Electrochromatic Rearview Mirror's and Homelink?? (considering resale?)
Front and rear parking sensors (Considering for resale)

The new Nero Stellato is quite nice as far as metallic blacks go, it's going to be on my upcoming 458. I was a bit disappointed with Nero Daytona, to be honest.

I'm a big fan of yellow (particularly 3-layer but regular also great) and Grigio Silverstone on the 458. The latter I had considered myself for my specs.

Your specs look nice. To get alcantara door inserts ONLY you'll have to put in a special order. The easier way to get them is to order the leather with alcantara option, which will make your seat inserts alcantara too. The same for stiching only on the seats, that is not standard, normally you get the contrasting stitching all over the car. I would definitely get the rear parking sensors, perhaps the front. I wouldn't bother with the camera.

What is the option called to have the dual alcantara / leather interior?

There is DAAL ($5025), and DAAD ($7023)

I drove the yellow press car at Ferrari of Seattle, it had Leather race seats and they are way more comfortable than the race seats in the Scuderia, must be more padding. So I am just wanting the same feel, so will Alcantara seat centers have the same amount of padding?

Your not that old, how many F1 Canadian Gran Prix's have you been too. I wonder if I met you in the Casino, met a bunch of guys that have been going for a long, time, one of the guys had an older Corvette that he was fanatical about, dusted it after every drive. My fiance' called it a Barbie Car, and all his friends made fun of him for like 2 hours straight. Still feel bad about that, but my fiance' get's like that once in a while, after a cocktail.

DAAL is Leather and Alcantara seats.
DAAD is same but with Daytona Style Seats; this combo is not a good look on a Race Seat IMO.

Mark, the Leather & Alcantara seats are the exact same for comfort, the Alcantara grips you better so you don't slide about in the seat, great for enjoying your new toy to the max in. They also look lovely too, so I'd highly recommend you opt for Black Race Seats with Leather & Alcantara, Modis Code DAAL and then finish them off with Yellow Stitching and a Yellow Leather Stripe down the Centre of the seats. Then also go for the same Leather/Alcantara mix for the Door Cards/Panels and you'll have a stunning interior that you'll be salivating over every time you see it.....this combo looks way better than standard Leather on it's own IMO...all other items you've chosen make sense, I'd also go with the Rear Parking Sensors. If you want Yellow Seat Belts too the code is CSB1.

If you PM your email I'll send you over the Ferrari 458 Personalisation Brochure they gave me to assist your choices...

Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, today's a gift.....enjoy every minute!

Maybe, but the guy obviously really loved that car. Might have been a Stingray. He even had a lift in his garage, and checked the car out completely before every drive.

I do that for a while, then most of my cars get washed like every two months. The excitement wears off eventually, that's why upgrades are so important.

What car do you have? Don't see it in your profile. I remeber you saying you just sold the Diablo Speedster?

Have to confirm this.

These seats are the race seats. They are the same comfort in leather or alcantara, there is no extra padding. Most people find them very comfortable indeed.

Wow, never seen them in the Diamond pattern. Look cool, but I will probably stick with the normal pattern. Don't think I will do the yellow stripe down the middle, as my fiance' is not fond of it. Small sacrifice to get another car.

20k deposit seems really reasonable to me. Less than 10%. Plus if you spec it out with terrible colors and didn't want to pick it up they would have a hard time getting rid of it.
