Ferrari Magazines

Its that time of year again, time to drop not so subtle hints for Christmas presents.

Thinking that this year I'd like a subscription to a Ferrari magazine or 2. Have never subscribed to one before.

Any suggestions for what mag(s) to choose?

Ferrari's: 360 Modena, 550 Maranello
Ex's: Dino 308 GT4, 612 Scaglietti
The Rest: Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Porsche 911 2.7s, Porsche 911 3.2 Carerra, Ducati 916... and the Land Rovers

Barry- Forza and Cavallino are the two I take. For around 300 Euros, Ferrari also has their own quarterly that is very high quality. I have one issue, but too expensive for me.

There's also the digital version of the official Ferrari Magazine. Look for it in the app store. It's only 5,99 per issue. I read it on my iPad, great quality!

FL Quarterly if the site owner ever decides to resurrect it.
I submitted an article for pub and am still waiting (smiles)
Maybe Andrew can fit it in between kite surfing on SF Bay.

+1 on FORZA, my favorite magazine
+1 Cavallino if you enjoy historic cars

I'm dropping my Ferrari Club membership because Prancing Horse is not as good as the aforementioned pubs IMHO. I'll save a few trees.

FL Quarterly will be revived under a different format. Magazine layout isn't easy, very time consuming. Look for more frequent articles in 2012 under a new format.

Barry, if I may make a serious suggestion get the bi monthly "Cavallino". Cavallino is not that good as it was in earlier days. The really best (IMO) you could do to yourself and your prospering deep Ferrari knowledge is buy a full set of Cavallinos from No 1 From 1978 to today. Its a great investment to your knowledge base ground up and also as a wonderful library which will appreciate in value long term. ATM there are some collections offered for about half the price they used to be 5 years ago. Let me know if you're interested. I'll check the market for you.

Would certainly be interested 212, but not knowing anything about this type of market, I'm guessing that such a collection would be measured in the thousands of 's???

Yes, that is correct . I would assume $ 1.5' -2'5' atm, but was up to 5-6' already. I believe its a tremendeous treasure of knowledge and a sound investment for F-afficionados but yes its pricy

While not Ferrari only, I find both EVO and Octane normally a good read.

Since I signed up for the 458, I've been getting the "Official Ferrari Magazine". You get it in the pre-delivery phase and the first 3 years of ownership. A regular subscription is €250, quite steep! But the magazine is quite substantial, the last edition being 272 pages. Not everything is truly interesting, quite a few articles about fashion and that sort of thing.

But on the whole, I must say it's better than I expected. I'm looking forward to reading Nick Mason's interview of Jackie Stewart.

No I never did Jeroen. I signed up for the 2012 subscription, so should get the next edition of the magazine whenever it is published. I'm looking forward to it. Always nice to have a bit of Ferrari reading material lying around for when I can't be bothered to pick up the iPad...
