Canadian Scud

It may be time to sell the Scag for a Scud

The price is high but so is the spec

Are there any issues bringing a Canadian car over?

why don't you sell one of your bidets on craigslist and keep the scag and the scud?

That's funny ... only because I have two Duravit bidets if you want em.

I was saving them for someone special that is far more deserving

I can't recall seeing a Scud with this kind of spec, so it's pretty unique. Not sure how easy it would be if you ever decide to sell the car in the future, as the all leather interior may not be to everyone's liking when it comes to the Scud. The Scud seems to be popular with an all Alcantara interior or Alcantara & Technical Fabric combination interiors - it gives it more of that hardcore / track feeling.

This is just my 2 cents worth

The car does look very nice in the pics though.

It's a tough call and resale does concern me. The open netting material used on the Scuds seems like something could snag vs the Alcantara and leather.

I like all the customization and it usually is frowned upon reflecting a price to like Ferrari's with either at or below a resale red. In this case it's not but the are a couple of other highly spec'd scuds similar miles at 190k making this one 20k high IMO.

Prices amaze me - I saw a 480k 599 that then added a HGTE pkg for sale at 229k.

It just seems that wayyy down the road the limited Ferrari's or higher performance Ferrari's are worth a lot more - who know's but it helps me justify my madness

Doug, I just saw your post regarding this Scuderia.
It is actually a US spec car that was imported into Canada.

It would be very easy for the car to re enter the US.
The only difference will be that the DRL's are enabled, as required by law in Canada. I am sure you could even have FoV turn off the daytime running lights. Check with a broker to see if your US Federal Government would want some tax money for the car to re enter.

When I brought in my Barchetta, I had to pay our Federal Govt. 6.1% Duty, 5% General Sales Tax, Ferrari Recall letter from FNA, inspection from an Authorized Canadian Ferrari Dealer(mandatory in 2009), and RIV (Registrar of Imported Vehicles) fee and brokerage fees. Without taking into account the CDN/US dollar exchange rate, this added an extra $25,000 in taxes to the cost of my car..........a night out on the town for the boys on Parliament Hill....

I saw a car that looked almost, exactly like this one when I picked up my Barchetta at Steve Harris in SLC, Utah.

I like the leather, it reminds of the CS's with the leather seats.

Doug, check your PM

Current: 357/448 Barchetta & 05 575M F1

It is a completely different car to drive from the Scag. Suggest you test drive one to make sure you bond with the Scud before jumping in.

I know my car purchases are not normal - but I never test drove a car or motorcycle before purchasing ... even when my kids got cars I did not drive or drive in the car.

When I bought the Scag never saw it or had ever even ridden in a Ferrari.

Learned this ridiculous habit from my Dad who opened the newspaper called the dealer and he would make an offer then have it delivered.

I know at these numbers it's ridiculous but I feel far more comfortable negotiating off their premises.

I can't say much, I have bought several cars without having driven them as well.

3 - F50, 550, 575.

On the F50, I inspected the car and had a PPI done but did not personally drive it. On the other two, deal was done over the phone but I was buying from people I knew and trusted.

They don't really allow you to test drive these cars.

I like this car, maybe, except for the gold wheels......This sounds like a pretty good deal, but I think there would still be room to move on the price.......but probably one of the best priced 09 Scuds that is advertised.

Doug, out of curiousity, are you still persuing the US Scud that is at Ferrari of Vancouver?
My brother in law was there last week while in Vancouver, and that car was not there yet.(unless it was being prepped)
He is heading back next week to look at a 430 spider and I suggested to him that he should test drive that Scud.....

I was left hangin ... asked it was consigned or their car.

Salesman couldn't tell me - left my number haven't heard anything.

Seemed like a nice guy but clueless

Really focusing on special paint and extra goodies - for some reason I have it in my mind that the special paint cars were given more all around care.
