Ferrari Alarm Remote Fobs

When I bought my 575M in 2008, it came with one black remote fob with a battery that was only just strong enough to disarm the immoblizer, but not strong enough to unlock the doors or arm the alarm. So I opened the car with the key, and pushed the fob to start. I met a friend in Santa Fe for lunch and when he pressed his 575M's fob and the doors unlocked, I was really surprised. A new battery from Radio Shack, though, and I was set, until I realized there were supposed to be three fobs, one red and two black. I did find the PIN, though, so that was a relief.

A quick call to Boardwalk, from whom I bought the car, and they agreed to send me a new set with new PIN. Real professionals at Boardwalk. After much internet sleuthing and help from another Ferrari owner, I managed to start the car with PIN and key only. From there it was easy to program the Alarm ECU to accept the matched set of fobs and the new PIN.

So why not write a document for other owners to explain how the system works and provide them checklists to start the engine with the PIN and kyy and also to program the ECU to accept three matched fobs and the new PIN?

So here it is. Hopefully it will help some owner in the future.

I note I have already posted this in the past, but what the heck, here is is again.

Is there a specific year and model that this alarm reprogramming procedure will work on?
I have a 2003 360 Modena with an alarm issue. This may help solve it if these instructions apply to my model.

Thanks.

R- It applies to the Motronic 5.2 355, 456, 456M, 550; the Motronic 7.3 360 and CS, which you have; and the Motronic 7.1.1 575M and Superamerica.

These instructions definitely apply to your car.

Thanks for the reply Terry. Unfortunately I don't have the PIN. I only have one black remote. Somewhere between the original owner and myself the PIN number has been lost. I read in your information that I might be able to obtain the Pin from FNA for a price. Although from what I read that does not look too promising. My 360 is stuck in my driveway until I either obtain the pin or buy a several thousand dollar alarm module. This does not make me too happy. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Phil

Threads like this are what keep me coming back to Fchat. We should have to pay for this kind of material. Isn't it great when our astronauts come back to earth and find a way to continue serving the rest of us. Rob could have bought a Porsche and we'd have never heard of him.
many thanks.

Anthony- There were some errors in the early version. Here is the latest. Immofixer also has a series of videos which explain many of the processes, too.
