Ferrari Alarm Remote Fobs
When I bought my 575M in 2008, it came with one black remote fob with a battery that was only just strong enough to disarm the immoblizer, but not strong enough to unlock the doors or arm the alarm. So I opened the car with the key, and pushed the fob to start. I met a friend in Santa Fe for lunch and when he pressed his 575M's fob and the doors unlocked, I was really surprised. A new battery from Radio Shack, though, and I was set, until I realized there were supposed to be three fobs, one red and two black. I did find the PIN, though, so that was a relief.
A quick call to Boardwalk, from whom I bought the car, and they agreed to send me a new set with new PIN. Real professionals at Boardwalk. After much internet sleuthing and help from another Ferrari owner, I managed to start the car with PIN and key only. From there it was easy to program the Alarm ECU to accept the matched set of fobs and the new PIN.
So why not write a document for other owners to explain how the system works and provide them checklists to start the engine with the PIN and kyy and also to program the ECU to accept three matched fobs and the new PIN?
So here it is. Hopefully it will help some owner in the future.
I note I have already posted this in the past, but what the heck, here is is again.
