355 Stereo

I had the Kenwood touch screen in one of my other cars. Liked it so much decided to put it in the 355. Getting ready to replace the door speakers. You guys have any recommendations?

I know, I know... I enjoy the sweet sound of the engine but I am also an audio head. I also like to listen to some tunes when the wife and I go out.

Honestly, I cant blame you. I am a professional musician and my 308 doesnt have a working radio/cd/ipod player and sometimes it drives me nuts. Fortunately I dont have too many long trips in the Ferrari so its not too bad. The few longer trips i have done got really old cruising at 80 and the engine droning on around 4k rpms. Great sound, but kinda gets a little maddening after a while.

In the Spider, I can only hear it with the top up, which is rare occasion.

However, I have Polk speakers in my sedan and have always liked them.

i have a decent system in my daily driver. consists of an alpine head unit, mcintosh amps (yes, car amps) and diamond audio separates. Love the system. my only weak spot is the sub which is an old bazooka tube, but i don't listen to very much base heavy music.

Well I went with Hertz door speakers and tweeters. They are from Italy and I said, why not? The system looks stock except for the black head unit. I went for a custom install of the custom painted amp, cross overs and wiring. I installed everything under Plexiglas in the front hood. I added LED's when the access dome light comes on. I plan on installing the prancing horse in the middle of the glass. I will post some good pics when all is done. This pic did not turn out so well.
Thanks.

Sounds great!. The crossovers do a great job of separating the lows for the door speakers and the highs to the tweeters. Much better then the stock set up. Now if I decide to play music on the freeway, headed to dinner with the wife, no problem.

Figured I would show one with the LED's then I am done. Wired the LED's into the dome dome light so it comes on when the parking lights are on and you pop the hood. The wife makes fun of me but who cares.

Jared- If your wife does not make fun of you, it is not much of a marriage.

Nice set-up. (on the stereo I meant, have not met your wife)
